Traded Rory Lobb - [Traded to the Bulldogs for #30 and F2]

I don't think he's worth a first to us. Will be interesting to see how it pans out. We've *ed our last 2 draft hands with the Darcy/UgleHagan picks. Couldn't really see us giving up a first for a guy with limited time left that isn't that good and doesn't fit needs.
If he isn’t good why you after him????

How about the 4 goals all outside the arc he kicked against you guys? Who can do that in the AFL with such ease.

Not going to argue Naughton v Lobb. Everyone knows who is superior and more consistent.

The facts are though in the last 3 seasons Naughton has polled 9 votes. Lobb has polled 17.

17 votes as a fwd who missed a few games through injury in 2021. This is a game breaker. A flexible Fwd/Ruck who can go back in clutch moments, who is contracted and overs will be given for him.

Just lock this thread and reply to this post if/when trade goes through. It will be overs for him.

By insisting that he asks Freo to release him from his contract so that he can join her in Melbourne because she has a job there.
You have literally no idea what she wants or has asked for. She’s allowed to have a career and she’s allowed to have an opinion on what’s best for both her and her partners career.

I’d love to **** our draft hands for a couple of top 3 key position players while competing in the finals. Absolute rort to get JUH, then the afl choose to change the rules.

He is a good player, no one is disputing that. That doesn’t mean we’re comfortable handing pick 11 for an okay 30 year old.

If there is no 1st including. We are looking at a package of a couple of 2nds (we all know this years draft is a flop) and Sweet as adequate coverage for Meek leaving.

Naughton is 8 years younger and kicked twice as many goals over the last 2 years.

Not sure anyone is too concerned with Brownlow votes.

I still can’t think of any previous trade for a 30 year old of Lobb’s ability that involved a 1st rounder, contracted or not. Happy to stand corrected if there is an example out there.

People are missing some points

1. Lobb is a forward and ruck which is the most difficult to fill.
2. Lobb is contracted
3. Fremantle don’t have a replacement and lacks mature key forwards.
4. Bell already said he will keep Lobb to his contract.

Therefore, Fremantle will need overs.

1. Lobb is B grade
2. He is 30
3. Bulldogs coaching group wants Lobb
4. Lobb Gf is in Melbourne and will play the mental health card in the trade period.

1. Pick 29 is fair enough but it’s not overs.
2. Pick 11 is way too much
3. Trade needs to be pick 29 plus pick swaps
4. Other clubs may need to be involved

I’m not sure 11 is way too much, but his value lies between 29 (which will push out further) and 11. Probably around the 20 mark. The concept that 30 year olds are near the end is being debunked constantly. Talls hit peak around 30. It’s likely Lobb will produce his best form in the next 3-5 years.

100% of dog fans think that pick 11 is way too much.

Pick 11 is far too much, no one in their right mind would ever pay that for Lobb

Of course she is just like lobbs employer is entitled to ask him to perform his contract and not trade him. He always has the legal right to retire from afl and move to melbourne if thats the choice he wants to make.

And Freo are allowed to say "na mate you can wait another 12 months as you are a required player and nobody is offering close to your value." Lobbs partner moving to Victoria doesn't mean Freo has to lose him for unders when he's got a legally binding contract.

It can’t be solely 29.

If Meek leaves maybe two 2nd rounders and Sweet. If we don’t land Corbett maybe 2 seconds and Hannan who has been pushed out of Bullies fwd line.
Yeah I agree it won’t be 29 if he goes, just that pick 11 is no chance unless 13 goes back with it.
