Well, more accurately, that’s he’s not with them anymore…
I know Harves has got bagged as a coach but he’s been the coaching game for over a decade and has been a caretaker twice. While he hasn’t gotten a senior job clubs must see something in his work because he never has problems getting another job.

i honestly dont think this works and i do think its a last ditch effort of an admin thats out of ideas....

having said that i can't deny it doesn't feel good. it feels like a wound has been healed.

i do like ross standing up for the club and it does feel nice having past players reconnect with the club. i also like that he's always been about the smaller battling clubs rather than large power clubs.

maybe it might instill some pride back in the place. which would be nice. a bit of respect and fight.

hopefully the players can get a shift in how they approach their careers and the results they get.

The Harvey appointment or all of it?

General Manager of Football: Geoff Walsh - Excellent GM
Head Coach: Ross Lyon - Excellent Coach
Assistant Coach: Robert Harvey - Excellent Assistant Coach
Assistant Coach: Lenny Hayes - Excellent Assistant Coach
Assistant Coach: Corey Enright - Excellent Assistant Coach
Head of Development: Damian Carroll - Excellent Development Leader

All great at their jobs and all very experienced.

The only thing I can see an issue with is who goes to the forward coach position. Probably why RTB spoke to Schneids last night, to get some specialists in

Ross the Boss, but yes all of it.

i'm not so worried about the assistants. i dont think we can rebuild the entire thing in one off-season. like the calibre of what we have will not be at the level of say Sydney. but i think we need ross to get some growth in the short term through experience then start attracting some quality in.

i'm more focussed on the positions of list manager and head recruiter as their work takes longer to produce results. its like the start of the pipe line.

having said that this type of appointment (ross) will go a long way to addressing the short term disillusion amongst saints supporters, who i think feel frustrated and hopeless with the clubs results.

I'm not sure we're getting another assistant

To think we were all feeling so flat and dejected after the trade period where we only got Cordy, now it's like all our Christmases have come at once.

I love how RTB is already creating an us vs them mentality. “The footy public don’t rate us. They think we’re a joke & irrelevant. What are you going to do about it?”
It’s no accident that he’s been leading the pressers with “I don’t like that narrative around St Kilda”. He will feed this to the players. All part of footy psychology.

100% and he has enough bad press to fill the changerooms at Moorabbin with.
