in a word when it comes to structure. gobsmacked. is terry still there running the show.

there is no proviso for taking on carltons talls. short and undersized both forward and back. unbelievable that morton is named at ff. and jack will be double teamed for sure once again.
one thing for sure they had better hope they can win in the midfield.

we talk about youth but i have to ask what youth martin, is he the only teenager.

I'll be very surprised if Polak does not come into the side as a late change. Regardless as to whether he is the preferred option or not, it certainly just makes sense with regards to structure.

Surprised Post is not on the bench to combat this, but then don't think we can have Vick and Post on the bench at same time.

A couple of the more talented youth are injured, some need to find their feet in the VFL. At least we're not talking about half a team of over 26yo's. Baby steps...

Just a question guys.
Couldn't find the injury list on your website, at least an updated one anyway. Is Tuck not in your best 22 anymore or is he injured? I always thought he was a pretty good player for you guys. I can't help but get the feeling that he has been made a scape goat to an extent. With your improved midfield he would have gotten under teams' guards and absolutely torn it up in my opinion.
That said I obviously don't know your list as well as you guys do and that's why I'm asking the question.
Good luck beating the scum by the way, hate the perpetual cheaters.

Tuck isn't injured. (just Foley and Griffiths at the moment) It seems he is behind Jackson and Thomson in the pecking order at the moment. If either of these two get injured/suspended/show poor form I supsect he would come in.

He has become a scapegoat, but to a certain extent it is justified. He is by no means a bad player - in fact, as a pure ball winner, he's equal with anybody in the league - he just has problems following a gameplan. I think Hardwick has decided that he'd rather somebody who won't win as much ball, but will follow the gameplan, and refrain from throwing it on the boot after a contest.

I don't mind the forward set up in this game, I think we can catch the Blues out with speed.

Woulnd't be suprised to see somone out and Polak in as a late change.

Lets hope we smash these guys!!

The more I look at Nason, the more he resembles the Predator.

I've been thinking exactly the same thing.

An interesting game, one year ago both teams were young and hyped and came into the game expecting to play finals. We flopped and Carlton went on to play finals. A loss that set the tune for our year, an overwhelmingly dissappointing one. This year Carlton have to play finals and we meanwhile have begun our rebuild, giving us zero expectations for the year and nothing to lose. Coupled with the "new coach" factor that the footy experts always trumpet and the emotional factor of Richo's retirement and lap of honour, I can see it being very close, which if it turns out to be, would be a sad indictment on Carlton whose men on paper should destroy our boys.

Why do we have play finals?

No body is expecting us to play finals this year according to the experts.

Sure we'll be aiming for the finals - but now the set back with Fev gone, means that we've gone back into development stage IMHO.

Carlton has a better team on paper, if you look at the last time we played, we lost by 20 points, the players that played that night but are'nt playing tonight are: Tuck, Post, Graham, King, Polo, Rance and White, arguablly our worst users of the ball (Post the exception maybe).

Our inclusions are: Farmer, Martin, Nason, Roberts, Simmonds, Connors and Thomson, Who I would say from what i've seen are clearly a more skilled group than the exclusions.

Carltons players that played that night but aren't playing tonight: Fevola, Judd, Grigg, Bentley, Johnson, Fisher, Hartlett, Hampson, Garlett, and Armfield.

Carltons inclusions: Bower, Waite, Scotland, Henderson, O’hAilpin, Warnock, McLean, Robinson, Walker and Yarran.

Clearly their inclusions are collectively more experienced, but losing the likes of Judd and Fevola nullify this, when you consider their impact on that game.

I would say our new look team has added players that can use the ball better, and kulled those that can't. I'm positive we will have less turnovers this game, which should keep us competitve.

looking forward to tonight! It's exciting to have such a new look side in.Obviously Martin looks ready made, but I'm looking forward to Nason. There is a bit about him i reckon.
The other guy who should be fun is Roberts. We all know he has some freakish attributes, but my interest was further pricked yesterday at work,a bloke at work is a very good footballer and lived in Darwin.Still plays up ther during their season when he can for St.Marys.
He reckons Roberts is the most amazingly gifted player he has ever seen.
Should be fun. Go tiges!

Jeez we have heard that alot of the pre season, he is the player I am most excited at seeing in action.

We really have lacked the type of player that makes you sit back in amazment since Browny broke his leg.

Scooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Good luck for tonight lads ... even though I hope we smash you :p

Lets hope for an entertaining game!

Just about to walk out the door, hopefully come home tonight with the optimism still in tact that this time the rebuild is actually the one that takes us back to the promised land.

Hey does anyone know of a possible stomach bug that Martin has supposedly picked up or is it just a rumor, was very keen to see him debut!
