I'm not a big fan of Byrnes as a midfielder but I think he could be valuable as a tagger like Clint Jones, like Clint he can run hard and is a poor kick.

I would send him to Brayshaw or Serong to shut them down, if he can shut them down and get a few poor kicks our way then that is a win for us.

Cordy is in as a pinch hit ruck. Different position to Sharman.

I'm sure Sharman will get a crack at some stage but Cordy for this game makes sense. It's about creating a contest around the ball and in the forward line. Sharman is more of a creative half forward type.

Sharman has pinch hit too. Not sure that Cordy is any better. Cordy is a limited player who has reached his ceiling. At least Sharman might have a gear to go up in him.

I think he plays that high half forward who runs end to end like he did in the preseason. Bytel might need to take if we want one while Windhager is out.

The last time Sharman pinch hit in the ruck I prayed to all the Gods he never gets sent to a ruck contest on an AFL field again while I had breath in my lungs, and I'm the number one ticket holder at the International Atheist Club.

I think Sharman pinch hit once and he was poor. Imagine Sharman up against Darcy or Jackson.

We signed Cordy as depth and we need him. Plenty of kids playing on Sunday no need to throw Sharman to the wolves.

He's not going to ruck against them though, he'd ruck against sides with a ruck forward like Lobb who was also chopping out.

I thought we were talking about this game?

I have no idea what I'm talking about. Cordy is shitter than Sharman IMO regardless. He's just newer. I'd rather risk losing a bit of ruck dominance and sit Campbell on the sub bench if it goes pear shaped. If Sharman is on he's a very handy forward. One goal could win it. Sharman has kicked more goals in his 15 games than Cordy has in his 118.

I like Sharman he is skilful but if he's worried about someone taking his place it should be Caminiti who was a VFL player until 7 weeks ago.

I know Cordy isn't popular on here but he's played 100 games including a premiership and played well in finals footy. It's surely no surprise that he's in the side this week given our injuries.

I remember watching this live lol. It kind of happened in slow motion, the umpire moved to the line of the ball and I thought what the **** why won't he get out of the way, and then he marks it. We are a bizarro club.

I actually think the side looks alright, except for the key forwards. Happy Bytel looks like getting a decent crack and to see Pou and Caminiti Debut. Think Stocker isn't a bad selection as well. Could probably rotate on ball if needed as well.

The Cordy selection I don't understand, but hopefully I'm wrong, which is obviously highly unlikely.

Me may be too unbalanced with the amount of youth playing in 1 game, which is also maybe why Cordy is in. We need to not panic going forward and be creative going i50 to have a winning chance

My word we are. Can’t think of any other club that’s had so much weird shit happen to.

  • That umpire,
  • Sirengate,
  • flooded Etihad roof in pre season
  • GF pre game where the change rooms were flooded,
  • washed out game in Mackay,
  • delayed pre season game at Geelong due to ground flooding,
  • lights out game at Waverley,
  • whispers in the sky game
  • Pig at Full Forward
  • changing our jumper to Red, Yellow and black due to WW1 Germany.

I’m sure there’s plenty more. It’s honestly a joke how we’re almost always involved.

I remember going into a 2010 game at Subiaco without Riewoldt and Kosi had to play the decoy role.

Milne kicked 5, Kosi kicked one and Gardiner kicked a couple, Ross knows how to find a way to win.

I'm kinda pinning my hopes on the coaching for this one. Will be very interesting. IF we had the same crew as last year I would be chalking this one up as a ten goal hiding. We now have one of those coaches that can just find a way though.

I don't know what they will do , but you know Silvagni would of been behind picking up Stocker and the kid shows aggression which Ross would love , so seeing him selected is no surprise.
Why was SOS behind Stocker?

Stocker was training at the Saints before we got SOS.

Stocker has looked good throughout the preseason. He deserves his shot with us.

Think they took him at Carlton when he was list manager. Made a massive call to trade a future first for him in live trading.
