In all seriousness weren’t we the #1 side last year for most behinds and quite a margin? can someone get this stat for me.
Most behinds average 12.6 a game. Next was Adelaide and Brisbane with 12.1. However both those teams averaged more goals than us. Third last for goal accuracy 45.6%. Its an ongoing theme for years now.

Supposedly we did quite a bit of set shot practice under Chad Cornes in the preseason but certainly didn't see any improvement today.

Bloody hot out there today.
Good passages then some poor ones. Getting smashed on the rebound again.

We will only go as far as out mids will take us.

Out
Finlayson
McEntee
Jones to sub

Sweet
Evans
Williams

It's not just the set shots, it's the fact that a lot of our scoring opportunities come from manic ball movement devoid of any structure.
Accuracy would improve if we had a method of hitting players up on the lead, which even West Coast were able to do today.

Any win in those conditions is a good win if you think otherwise you have to be *ing joking.

Unfortunate that the umpires had heat stroke in the second half and could only see one team.
The umpires just lost any form of intelligence half way through the game.

This would be my changes too. Give MG a few more games in the 2’s.

The new defenders didn't change much. Aliir is still the guy you're looking for to save the day down there.

Don't understand why Jones gets a game ahead of Williams.

Dixon was dominant at times and still commands the opposition's focus. The question is can he stay fit.

Finlayson's confidence is still shot.

Soldo is a really aggressive ruckman. Significant upgrade on Lycett.

Midfield all played well really.

Thought Burton and Houston both played particularly well.

Totally agree although there were quite a few shots at goal today that were not that difficult that we totally butchered.

Can someone explain why basketball and soccer players are getting more skilled (better at shooting and kicking the ball) but AFL it's the opposite?

Yes, since the 80s they're more fit but the skills especially goal kicking are progressively getting worse.

They're all on record as saying practicing goal kicking isn't something you want to do too much because you'll hurt yourself. It's pretty obvious why it doesn't improve in that context.
