Everytime Brodie Smith plays a shit game its because he's got concussion.
Not at all.

Apparently Smith landed heavily & played poorly after.

May be a coincidence, may be not.

Just saying - not jumping to conclusions either way.

Or maybe, not in the mind set after losing his grandfather?
He was very close to him, remember meeting his grandparents twice at away games in Geelong and Melbourne.
Wasn't aware if this.

No doubt it could have a negative impact.

For whatever reason, Smith had an off day & hopefully returns to aa form in the showdown.

We missed two goals from like 15 metres out that were absolute gimmes. Kick those and we would have won.
Football department has some explaining to do. Clear lack of focus on skills during the off season.

Tex and Eddie not sharp or committed enough when the Crows are staring down a nightmare draw and need to win the close matches. Wayward kicking is not good enough.

I wouldn't accuse Eddie of not being comitted. Did you see his tackle count?

Didn't look like Geelong gave Dangerfield any skills training in the off season either, missed two from 20m out in the last quarter...

Ahh that would explain the armbands then

combined 20m

They still won and that is all that mattered. It is all about winning.

All depends on how they handle the pressure. The season is probably finished if we start 0-8. We put too much pressure on ourselves vs North and collapsed after halftime. Crows bad habits of old. Not good enough. Port is a better team than North so we have to play harder in R2, we have our home crowd behind us on what should be an amazing atmopshere on a perfect day. I know if we have belief, we can play the same way as we did against West Coast late last season.

Geelong vs Hawthorn = Dangerfield also had some horrible misses, didn't matter. They won and are going to crush the Giants next week. It is a team game. There were some shocking misses in R1. Hawthorn could be 0-2, face West Coast next week.

So I was away in the Flinders over easter and managed to watch the game on my phone from my rooftop tent while the missus cooked dinner. Havent read this thread or the countless others, so am I right in assuming the reasons we lost are:

VB and MacKay did not provide the output senior experienced players should?
Selecting McGovern over Hartigan was a mistake?
Undisciplined 50's and free kicks against that resulted in a few goals?
Inaccurate kicking?

I found it quite baffling to be honest, that we had both McGovern and Lynch in the same side, and not once did I see them being used behind the play and dropping into the hole in defence when North were starting to get back on top late in the 3rd and then again midway through the 4th.

They are both tall and good in the contest. Lynch has done it before and been serviceable at the role. No idea why we didn't look to either of them on Saturday night either.
