You going the slam your knob in the door too

lol this is a 50/50 game at best. Giants have been very competitive this year and Greene makes them about 50% better. Any win in the AFL is a good win, look at Nth yesterday, everyone has their day. We should win but us smashing them is very unlikely. I’d say if we win it’ll be around 4 or 5 goals and a low scoring game.
As usual, just get the 4 points.
Not worried about margins, percentages etc.

This really is a must win game if we're at all to challenge for the top four. Steady the ship somewhat with a win today, then Hawks next week so hopefully 8-3 at our bye. Coming out of that we'll probably have our best chance in years of beating Sydney in Sydney, followed by a winnable game against the Tiges. I'd say if we're to finish in the lower part of the top four we need to win these next four games.

Having said that, lose today and then beat the Hawks a la the norf game where we looked pretty average, we'll be 7-4 into the bye but coming out looking shaky heading to Sydney and then against Richmond. I could easily see us at 10-3, then again I could also quite easily see us at 7-6.

So the next four, two each side of the bye, all against teams outside the eight, are must wins if we're to be thereabouts later in the season, even though two are interstate. Yeah I know, one week at a time blah blah blah. 🥴

We need a solid, professional victory today.

Besides King (obviously) although we need to be realistic - it took Ben a couple of games to come good - I’m really happy to see Webster and his “no quarter given” attitude back in the team.

Hope Gresh comes back firing - and playing like he wants to get a great FA contract. Not saying I want him to go, but I’d like to see him back at his best and breaking ankles again.

Yep, important to win to keep our psychological edge over others around our level. The difference between finals and bottom 8 will be banking more wins than losses against teams in that middle rung like ourselves. The Giants are a better side than their ladder position an it will be a game we need to turn up for but we need to make sure we don't let it slip through lack of effort and system.

Looking forward to Maxy kicking one goal having dragged four defenders all day and Hammo Higgy and Butts kicking three each. Pooey and Gresh chiming in with two each.

Trying to stay positive but getting a little nervy about the game I must say. Great to see Max back but as diehard mentioned about Ben, we can't expect too much too soon. Jimmy has been out for a while now too, hopefully he picks up where he left off, was looking really good early on. And Gresh the wildcard as per usual, a little underwhelming when he last played, love to see him kick and create a few today. He should help our midfield look a bit different at times too.

I think I still need convincing that we're legit this year. Winning today won't necessarily prove that we are, but it'll obviously help to get us in a position where we stay in touch. With the list getting healthier and a pretty good draw for the second half of the season, we have reason to be optimistic. But as we all know, that feeling that we will sh!t the bed at any time is never very far away. 💩

Happy for Max King to be an overqualified foil for others. That alone makes him a massive upgrade on Cordy who as shit as he was was part fo a better forward line. We looked good early with Cammo, Pou, Owens, Snags, Cordy, Gresham and Butts. It pulled defences out all over the place. Too many changes and too many chasing the same ball have dropped us away.

Max King may be back but we can't rely solely on him to get the 4 points today. Expecting a big lift across the entire playing group.

How are you feeling about today's game?

Yeah, maybe just coincidence but we started to look not quite so good up forward from about when Timmy came in. All the no names early on probably confused a few defensive setups, we've been a bit more predictable these last few weeks. Mix that with a dropoff in pressure and run, this game looks pretty 50/50 in my opinion. Very different setup forward today of course, hard not to be excited by the potential. We haven't lost two in a row yet so hopefully we turn up and turn it on.

Most days my friend. When it's that long it's an issue that some of us have to deal with.
Try wearing pants......

Personally I've found that it's been the most effective solution to the problems and hazards that impact those of us that are exceptionally endowed.....

And lost Hammer for 3 weeks. Cordy was not doing much but he did create space for others. Owens fell away when he went out. Watching at the ground Cordy very deliberately ran out to nearly the boundary line to draw his defender back out of the square.

Owens would run from outside 50 down to the opposite side and guys like Phillipou would go out wide out the other side while the smalls hovered out wide but deep and moved back towards the square when the ball came in. Hammer running straight towards the incoming ball at full pace from deep.

Pretty simple but there were Saints players all over our forward 50 and it stressed defences because they moved around creating holes.

So excited to see Max in this system. Not expecting too much from today but from all accounts before Howard’s hissy fit in the pre season he looked absolutely dominant. Looks like he’s grown into his body, stronger and fitter then he’s ever been and I really think he is primed to explode.

I’m with a friend at Carlton Collingwood. Wil have the game on my phone and be a bit rude

Just watched a bit of the Sandy game and Bytel and Windy are the only players winning their positions. Highmore has taken good marks but can't seem to kick it to a teammate. Billings has had a couple of touches and missed both his handball and kick. Watching Sandy is a horrible experience, had enough.

The wind is picking up and favours one end. Win the toss and kick 8 first quarter goals!

If you cannot do it then you are addicted to your phone
Should be easy

P.s im watching 3 things at once atm 🤣

This is it Saintos.
Looking forward to Max killing some interceptions and turning them into crumbs for our smalls.

Currently a league worst 20 intercept marks allowed per game.
Next worst being Essendon 18.5
League average 16
Port leading the stat only 14 per game.
