Usually switch off pretty quickly but was enjoying a couple of extra beverages and ended up seeing some yak show after the coverage.

I can't remember who was on the panel, Mooney and couple of others I think, after talking about the game and how much Ports deserved it question comes up along the lines of "So what does tonight mean for the overall scheme of things"

In a heartbeat Mooney "nothing, still Collingwood and Melbourne as the 2" to which they all reassured each other with quiet nods.

However as stated above, I reckon having no expectations on us helps our cause. Not sure how Brisbane fans feel about it.

No doubt Melbourne have the cattle to win it for sure but there's scant evidence to suggest they're currently a favourite. They've basically beaten up on rubbish this year and lost to anyone half decent.

These kind of teams almost always get found out when the real stuff starts in September. As a Port fan in the Hinkley era we all should know from first hand experience.

Lol, the defence of hunter. "Perfect technique for contesting the ball".

It would help if he was actually going for the ball. Didn't even bend over to reach for it.
Yep - saw Rozee, turned his body to deliberately bumb his head. Eye was NEVER on the ball.

Intentional Conduct, High/Medium Impact, High Contact

= 2 match suspension under MRO classification rules.

Yep rd.10 anything can happen. Pretty sure they had Melbourne going back to back last year after rd.10 as well

More clubs than Tiger Woods, and he looked as miserable as all f*** when the siren went!
wouldn't you be miserable he's just looked over and seen Daddy Donuts dancing around like an imbecile and seen his family heritage being flushed down the toilet by a pretender. Plus he'd just been beaten by Hinkley. Or Josh Carr in Hinkley's name.

Agree. High impact = 3, medium impact = 2. Probably rated medium because a vic player and Rosee played on.

Hows the group victoria whinge over the umpiring last night.. Jeezus lol
BT and Brayshaw openly calling for an extra 50 metre penalty to give Melbourne the win. When it was quite clear that Lever not only flopped to get the original 50 but was running away from the direct line of sight to the goals to try and milk another 50.

Can you imagine what would have happened in the same circumstances if it was a Port player getting double 50s under those circumstances?

Open bias and zero understanding of the rules and the situation.

And Grundy will pay half his coffee bill with money still coming from Collingwood, the other with money from Melbourne.

Footballers in Malbun don't expect to pay for anything. Entitled.

I would not have suspended Rioli and I would not suspend this guy either but I played in a different age. In the sensitive new age that we live in any high contact is scrutinised. I am not sure what the Melbourne player was supposed to do in the circumstances but other players have been pinged for similar incidents so I think the Melbourne player is in trouble.
In the Biff days it would have been play on but it’s 2023 and anything high is going to be scrutinised.
He should get suspended if he doesn’t than it’s just another look after the Vic clubs moment.

The bullet like handpass through traffic from Jonas, Dylan takes time to sum up the situation and coolly foot passes it to Wines on the boundary. all happened in the chaos of the last minutes of the final quarter. A first 22 player!
And remember Hinkley put him on the rookie list this year and preferred McEntee as a small forward,

The commentary for our games is so gross. The same thing happened against Sydney, close game and all they can focus on is barracking for cheap 50m penaltys to be paid.

How flat were they that Port were on the way to a win after the Melbourne circle jerk in the third.

Primed for an after match Petracca love-in that never came.

Meanwhile umpire invents a rule

no doubt SPP was niggling but I didn't realise AFL had rules similar to a silver spoon dinning event.

further gawn pursued SPP to make contact and give him a sling.

personally, I see no free but if there was one it was the other way

AFL should come out and make comment on this free, as although just a silly free, clarification of the fabric of the game is required. As a 50 yo, life time supporter of the game, I don't know what is within or against the rules after this incident.
