Geez i rate Lin Jong, would be happy to have him in our midfield
Yeah strange comment since Lin has been playing as the Dogs "second" ruck as well as kamikaze midfielder.
Couldn't agree more.

Minch at the very least needs to replace Dunstan. I'd like to see Mav given an extended break into the Bye and Wright let loose too.

Grass is greener mentality.
We need top end talent to, not another fringe player to replace one of our fringe players.

Playing second ruck because he won the high jumping contest at the club when we had no ruckman

Averages 20 possies and zero goals as a full time mid and been in the system 5 years. Not good enough

He is a massive part of why we are struggling being one of our more consistent players this year tells you who much everyone else has dropped away

Salary cap doesn't allow for 22 stars - I'd be more worried about Libba's output than that of a GOP like Jong.

Oh I am without doubt but what I'm sayin is when depth players are playing main minutes in our midfield we aren't traveling very well.

Which makes us along way off 100% and then gives you blokes a huge chance of not starting favs in my book.

We have 4-5 blokes in that shouldn't be getting a game of everyone is playing to form like last year.

Well you've convinced me.

Leave this Jong fella in.

And his 3-4 mates also

Well then its lucky he's at last having a crack otherwise you may have been well outside the 8.

All clubs have them - then ones that are there or thereabouts but just don't seem to become the guns you actually need.

At least Lin didn't cost you heaps in the first place.

Rance is an extremely over hyped backman that the media fap over endlessly. You only have to look as recently as the other week against Freo where he was caught in no man's land as the loose player in defence. Biggest pretender since Archer.
I can never fathom how he calculates in the same breath as Martin and Riewoldt for Richmond's best.
Nah, Rance (& Archer) are guns.

Agree with this. Pretty sure 2 of Buddy's goals were Joe the Gooses & 2 others were from a woeful turnover from us that resulted in Brown being way out of position & Buddy taking an easy relatively uncontested mark.

Fact is, every full back is gonna give up the occassional half bag. Brown's worst efforts have been 4 goals against by the 2 best KP forwards in the game - Buddy & Kennedy. I feel it was the right match up as Carlisle did pretty well on Tippett & Gilbo was solid on Reid
I think some teams will expose us with two big slow stopper backs, it's what we have so we need to get back to full field defence like last year to counter it. We had a good set up against GWS because Paton, Cameron and Lobb are all ideal match ups.

Hmm... I think we've painted ourselves into a bit of a corner selection wise. Roo needs a rest I reckon, two weeks off would be great for him (although last week he went ok). However, we can't bring Bruce back in this week since he got towelled up in the VFL. So what does our forward line look like.

We haven't really shown the composure to pinpoint a pass in the forward 50 thus far. Going in small wouldn't be the right strategy imo
I agree. Hopefully this week spells the end of this indiscriminate kicking into the forward 50. What worries me about the dogs is that our forwards have to be accountable for their defenders who will run off them. Bruce, Membrey, Gresh and Billings would be fine with that. Paddy might be tested there.

I am a Dunstan fan but I'm also in conflict with what id prefer us to do with him. If out, his on ball minutes go to Koby/Steele/Acres etc which as we saw in the GWS can add a new dimension to our team. In saying that, I look at the Dogs midfield with the likes of Bont, Wallis, Dalhaus, Libba (?), and I think Luke could be one of the few midfielders that could thrive in what will be a contested battle with one hot footy.

The problem with playing Luke whilst not giving him his usual bulk on ball minutes is he literally makes 0 impact playing forward whilst his pressure isn't anything spectacular to make up for his lack of offensive presence... which then begs the question wouldn't you rather Minch/Wright who will make it tough for any opposition defence once the ball hits the ground + can bop up for a goal or two? Then distribute Dunstans midfield minutes across those mentioned above. Really interesting call for Richo.
