We controlled the territory. I think we played the conditions just fine but we just needed a couple more goals from all the opportunities we gave ourselves
I dont disagree but they were just far cleaner in the conditions.

Their pressure was better than ours and they were more efficient. Pretty much the game. Can’t dominate a third qtr like that and not put it on the scoreboard. Probably should have used the sub a lot earlier or at least gone in with one less tall given the conditions but we know that’s not what we do

As pointed out by half the board before the game. Danger game. Lads are just not up to it from a mental aspect. Away from Gabba with opposition crowd giving it to them at all costs and cheering on their home team. We just can’t handle it. Melt under pressure.
You mean like we did in front of 70,000 at the MCG against the at the time premiership favourites the Demons in a semi final last season.

Nah tad harsh just had a mare of a night 1'9 in 3rd qtr cost us. Sitting 8-3 in third position is pretty good spot to be in, crows play good footy at home , think we'll be right.

We're 0-3 against top 8 teams away from home. It's been a pattern for years and they still haven't rectified it.

20 something inside 50s or whatever it was in the 3rd for 1.9.

Not gonna win anything with that sort of efficiency.
Had a bad day in difficult conditions that didn't suit our game style.

Lost it in that horrendously frustrating third quarter when we had enough opportunities to just about put them to sleep.

As usual, when you dominate for long periods and don't capitalise, you get punished down the other end.

Ashcroft missing a soda was a two goal turnaround and the horrible non-mark call on Hipwood cost us big time and swung momentum all the Crows way.

Disappointed but it's not the end of the world.

Finally, surely Gunston must be due to be "managed" again . Had one guilt edged opportunity that he threw away just before half time and otherwise offered next to nothing.

Best part of it was that we showed the mental strength to show up the next week and back it up in the prelim right?

We aren't going to go undefeated and I'd rather lose to Top 8 teams away, than bottom 4 teams at home.

There are levels to these things and losing to Top 8 teams away is not the metric to worry about.
