102k forward - ruck.... :moustache: .

FFS forgot to post the twit...

Can confirm Pascoe Vale seconds made contact but decided they're better off bringing Cain Ackland out of retirement

Was CCJ in consideration?
I want a downgrade available r14.
If i take reeves now I can afford jordon -> Neale r14
If i take ccj now I need another downgrade to get neale.
I will probably end up with him through Mcreery but i figure he can wait.

Just a little annoying that the bye teams this week have very few premo SC players you'd be looking to bring in next week.

Backs - only one player of the top 6 defenders with the bye (edit: Whitfield an outside exception)
Mids - only one player in the top 12 midfielders with the bye
Fwds - everyone already has Ziebell and Impey so and there's only one player in the top 8 forwards with the bye

Slim pickings at the top end
Whitfield and Hall/Hawkins for me

Had a great second half of the year last year IIRC?

Cool. Will wait for someone (who read these posts) to start a discussion tomorrow on the validity or lack thereof of trading Hawkins into their team with zero credit given to us OG posters

Is this CCJ bloke the real deal? Worth going early on?
If you need to pad your on-field numbers, need the cash in preparation for next week or if you've already got clear targets for the three Rd 14 trades, you can, but not a must.
That said, seems an OK one to go early on if you do need to with Nank and Lynch out a while, has an OK-ish score build with a bit of work in ruck contests and being alright as a forward.

Gonna skip Heeny and bring in SPP next week

DPP, will play both rd 13 & 14, similar price and output minus the injury concerns. Heeney also currently being managed

SPP back from personal leave and back to back tons after a slow start

Am I stupid?
I tell my kids not to call people stupid, we say "silly" instead.

You're being silly
Funny, I tell my kids that people aren't stupid, but they do stupid things.

Trading in SPP is a stupid thing.

Will see what fresh hell selections bring tonight, but I'm looking at Steele this week and double-dipping on two of Stewart/Whitfield/Hawkins next week. Will abandon all logic and reason and break the golden rule by going early on CCJ and Bianco to do it, too, I suspect.

Some of us jumped on him 4 weeks ago when he was "cheap"

Narrowed it down to bringing CCJ and Heeney in this week or CCJ and Bianco to build up the war chest so I can bring in Jelly and Whitfield next week.

Option B is probably the better play for me as I will finally be able to get my D6 in by going Highmore > Whitfield.

Would have Bianco at M8 and Poulter at F6 left to upgrade after also going Jordan > Jelly.

F@rk, can't wait to bring that damn campaigner Jelly back in so he goes back to half forward or does a calf! 🤣

I really want Steele in too but that bye is killer.

I don't think it can justify it even though it's hard to overlook because he will be 600k in a few weeks and out of reach.

I've got 17 trades left with 5 rookies (6 if I include Impey) on field so this week have decided to luxury trade:

Taranto > Oliver
Rowe > Bolton
Flynn > Reeves

Leaves me $200, lol. Or I get Steele at his price and Oliver later hoping he drops (which I doubt he will)

Can you get a rookie to Steele, rather trading Taranto?

With 5 upgrades to go you might be better off trading out rookies, save the sideways trades for later.

Taranto will be super useful over the byes too.

Yeah I can go Jordon > Steele instead of Taranto > Oliver

It's killing me not having Oliver - Both chances I had to get him I went for POD choices in Lyons and Walsh :drunk:

Those two are great choices though. I'm trying to get them into my side lol.

Piggy is on fire (crackling) but he'll slow down at some point. Imo you've got too many upgrades to go to chase blokes at that price. Maybe if it was your last upgrade.

Yeah good point, Taranto was frustrating to watch on the weekend but at least he's made me 90k at his current price.

Another option is Heeney instead of Bolton netting an extra 105k-ish, although I'm very happy with my cash cows at the moment and am confident I'll have a full team with 2-4 trades left.

In saying that, I'm not a fan of players made of glass (Hall, Heeney, etc.) so have avoided. But options are bare in the forward line...

I think I'm gonna grab Crippa this week. Looked good on the weekend and price very nice. Couple of early rookie grabs in Bianco and DDP for Kosi and Flynn, then Farrar to Cripps leaves me 9 trades and one rookie left on field, 240k odd banked for future investment.
