MACRAE HITS THE BRAKES

Jack Macrae appeared on track for a strong score against Geelong on Friday night before slowing up in the final term, continuing an unusual 2022 trend. Macrae ranks a lowly 10th at the Bulldogs for points per game in the final quarter this season, averaging 19 points per game. If you take out the 43 points he scored in the final term against the Blues in round 2 that average would be much lower. Last round against the Cats, he scored 16 points from four effective disposals in the final term – his worst quarter for the match. Interestingly, only Jarrod Witts has scored more points than Macrae in first halves in 2022!

ROOKIE SUCCESS STORY (2)

The other player many KFC SuperCoaches will be sad to part ways with is Paddy McCartin. In the feel-good story of the year, the former No.1 draft pick and St Kilda forward hasn’t missed a beat in defence for the Swans. He averages 3.5 intercept marks – ranked equal-third in the league, as well as 8.1 intercept possessions – ranked equal-seventh. McCartin had 10 intercept possessions and a season-high 95 points against Melbourne last round to boost his price to $376,300, a profit of $218,500 from his starting value. With a Break Even of 52 and a three-round average of 85, many coaches are holding McCartin through his round 13 bye – he has been traded out by just over 5000 coaches this week who need that cash to fund other moves.

STEWART PRICE WATCH

Bailey Smith’s bizarre headbutt stole the headlines on Friday night, but he had another victim earlier in the match after a fierce (and fair) collision with Tom Stewart that resulted in the Cats defender being subbed out of the game with concussion. Stewart finished with just 39 points – a big blow to his 45,000 owners but a potential gift for the rest of the competition. Stewart dropped $13,400 in value and a Break Even of 144 when he returns after Geelong’s bye. If he plays in round 14 against West Coast that is definitely achievable but SuperCoach Plus projects Stewart will fall just short and face a BE of almost 200 the next week against Richmond. He is likely to button out at about $550,000 after round 15. Can you wait that long to finish your defence?

Nope.
Save the trade.
Find another way.
Brodie is a keeper.

I'll find it hard to get English any other way as it will require 2 trades + more $$$ to do it by trading Cogs/Butters to him. He's pretty much a must have as a RUCK/FWD. Probably more important than Brodie with Bont, Dunkley, English, Libba and Parker etc.. averaging similar or more.

If Aaron Hall is back this week I’m in. IDGAF.

Feck the byes.

Was named in RICH's game being played today IIRC

Interesting as well is Cumberland wasn't named in the VFL side. He might play his 2nd AFL game this week so he will be on the bubble next week. Could be a good downgrade he has DPP Mid/Fwd

After doing the trades below, I have 8 trades left and my team will be complete next week when I trade Butler into the mids.

Clark > Owens
Treloar > Merrett (think its 95 vs 110-115 avg from here)
SDK > Sinclair

Could do Soligo/Hinge instead of Clark/SDK but Adelaides draw fills me with hope of some money still to be made. Treloar is a bit of a luxury trade but I'm selling high and buying low.

Want Merrett and Gawn but blown all my boosts - which one should I get

Gawn's going up by more this week, but then has the Bye.

Merrett plays next two weeks. I'd say Rnd 12 Bye guys are the priority this week.

Absolutely Merrett, like @fazs2000 said his bye has just gone. This was also the point last year that Gawn started to hand over more responsibility to Jackson leading to finals.

Also Essendon have a decent run home and Merrett should be good for a consistent 110-115. The bombers will begin our traditional impassioned run home to finals and win 7-9 games, become world beaters, then lose to Richmond by 10 goals in round 23

I’m hearing he maybe the sub.

Wehr in 8% of sides prior to trade-ins this week (up to 14%) now.

If he's dropped, I imagine a lot of those 8% who went early on him will be hurting, especially the ones struggling to get 17/18 scorers this week.

Non-owners (like myself), do we want him in our out?
In = better scoring potential than the other options
Out = punishes the coaches who went early, but we need to grab SDurdin, who is a spud playing full back, could average 20-40

Doesnt matter really, if you can field 18 without compromise your final team do it. I just need like Wehr/Owens playing, but they want affect my final team cause I need to cash out McCartin and McComb. (I have like 18 keepers playing in the last bye so its w.e).

I need one of Wehr or SDurdin to play, otherwise I'm looking at 17 scorers this week. Lots will be in a similar boat. Some will even have 17 scorers, including Wehr. Wehr playing will matter to a lot I reckon, especially with the amount of rd13 bye players with high ownership.

GWS have a lot of injuries. Even with Whitfield back (please please please please) Wehr might stay in. Every chance he goes ok vs North and buys himself another few weeks.

Adam Kennedy returning from covid is the one that concerns me with Wehr. Was easily replaced by Ash when he missed rd11.
If Whitfield (who knows where the new coach wants to play him), Kennedy (small/med defender) and Haynes (half back) all return, there'll be some serious reshuffling. Where does Ash play? Where does Whitfield play? Where does Himmelberg play (excelled in that Haynes role)? Week after Taranto will return, again, more shuffling. Bit of a headache for the new coaches.

If Wehr holds his spot with Kennedy, Whitfield and Ash in the side, I reckon the new coach might love him and his JS looks solid.

No, North media say he's "set to return" to the seniors this week

Fair enough, I was going off the Afl.com one.

PLAYERINJURYESTIMATED RETURN

Aiden Bonar Hamstring 1-2 weeks

Charlie Comben Leg 4-5 weeks
Ben Cunnington Testicular cancer Indefinite

Early prognosis

The Kangaroos are limping towards the bye. Don't expect Bonar, Hall, McKay, Polec, Zurhaar or new recruit Dawson to return before then. In some much-needed good news, Phoenix Spicer (hamstring) made his comeback through the VFL last week. - Riley Beveridge

Trac-Zerrett is tempting.

Extra 100+ score could be as much as 10ppg across the remainder of the year?
As much as Trac is shitting me atm, don't do it. No confidence that Merrett averages more than him from here – I'm possibly bringing Merrett in, but his role has changed. Less CBAs and more of an outside role, meaning his tackle numbers are way down, which would explain his scoring drop so far this year.
