Watson --> O'Brien (obviously if he stays in the team and, ideally, isn't the sub)
Taylor/Lloyd --> McGovern

Puts a monster double upgrade of K.Mitchell/Hartung --> Pendlebury/S.Johnson in play next week, which would leave me with a worrying five trades and (assuming Taylor --> McGovern):

K.Simpson, D.Swallow, McVeigh, Jaensch, Enright, Langdon (holding for a trade to S.Mitchell once he returns and bottoms out)
Bews, Litherland

Ablett, Pendlebury, J.Kennedy, J.Selwood, Beams, Liberatore, S.Johnson, Murphy
Shenton, O'Brien

Sandilands, Pyke
Derickx, Thurlow

Harvey, Dangerfield, Zorko, Roughead, Franklin, Ambrose
McGovern, Lloyd

Obviously the big issues are F6 and R2, with a worrying lack of trades to fix (with another issue being the JS of my bench defenders). Once I'm down to five trades, it's probably time to take a breath, realise that, at best, I'm cracking the top 10k and focus on winning the league. So, maybe fix the F6 toward the end of the season, then a standard downgrade/upgrade of Pyke (assuming he continues at his standard 2014 mediocrity when he returns)/Derickx to someone like Jacobs, Minson, or Goldstein in the finals (then watch as Pyke inevitably outscores the bloke I bring in).

Boring trades this week:

Watson - SJ
Fasolo - Zorko

Leaves me with only one upgrade left:

McVeigh, Bartel, Hibberd, Swallow, Jaensch, Walker (Cutler, Bews)

Ablett, Pendlebury, Johnson, Murphy, Ward, Goddard, Beams, Shenton (Acres, Taylor)

Cox, Sandilands (Dericx, Thurlow)

Dangerfield, Zorko, Harvey, Wingard, Elliot, Martin (Lennon, Cameron)

9 trades left and $44k.
Nice team...

Would like some advice on trades guys. More than likely doing Watson-SJ. Want opinions on what my move should be for a second trade.
Here's my side as it currently stands with SJ in the mix.

$122,800 in the kitty, 7 trades left(6 after this trade)

Bartel,Simpson,McVeigh,Swallow,Hibberd,Jaensch(Cutler,Bews)

Ablett,Pendles,Beams,SJ,Murphy,Goddard,Selwood,Swan(Hartung,Acres)

Sandilands,Jacobs(Derickx,King)

Danger,Martin,Boomer,Buddy,Bruest,Pavlich(Shenton,Ambrose)

Option 1:Acres-O'Brien(If not named sub)

Option 2: Hartung(BE 59, may get dropped anyway)-O'Brien-Won't be able to see if sub if trade is made due to Hawks playing first

Option 3: Swan-Anyone 621,200 or below(Ward etc)

Option 4: Pav-Gray
Who am I to give you advice mate - you are doing too good a job!
oh I know - keep Watson, he's been averaging really high - only got a bit of a knock on the weekend but he'll be right mate :p
...
Seriously, I'm in a similar boat - almost finished my team, but don't have the cash you have - so don't know what to do.
Depends what sort of a mood you are in mate
I'd be inclined just to do 1 trade, SJ one and wait till next week
Swan to anyone if you want to be aggressive - but, could easily back-fire. So hold him.
I'll raise you Cotchin for your Swan - which I'm keeping for another week

This is what my team currently looks like with Watson to Pendles already locked in.

Is it worth upgrading Langdon to Hanley this week for 30K?

That would leave me with 7 trades to do ug shenton, dg taylor and ug ambrose to premo fwd.

so 4 trade for injuries and suspensions for the last part of the year. Looks like I am stuck with Enright unless I get a great run with injuries and offload him later in the year.

Any other ideas? (having traded 5 ruckmen this season has killed my tarde numbers)

Everything must go!

Crazy prices!!!

Sell sell sell!!

I've got Watson heading out the door at $580,000, I'm overstocked with Langfords, he's priced to sell at $327,000.

This leaves me with $908,000 to spend on a Mid and a Def.

Was thinking either N Jones or M Murphy for the mid (to go with Ablett, Pendlebury, Beams, Libba, Cotchin, Dunstan & Selwood)

Defender - no idea.

Currently: Simpson, Bartel, Burgoyne, Picken, Langdon (and Langford)

Or: Swallow @ $504K & then left with $404K for a mid.

what do the wiseheads of BF say?

Tossing up between the following

Tyson > Ward- will give me a finished midfield of Ablett, Pendles, JPK, Beams, Rockliff, Selwood, Cotchin and Ward. might look to upgrade cotchin in a couple of weeks, trades and cash permitting. Backline is finished. will still have higgins and Ambrose @ F5 & F6 respectivley.

Tyson> Gray- plan would be to swing gray forward in a couple of weeks once ambrose has maxed out. would mean i have higgins at M6 and Shenton at M8 who will be in need of upgrading in this scenario and obviously one spot in the mids to upgrade

decisons, decisons... what to do?

Thanks mate. Yeah i think i'll just do the Watson-SJ trade this week. Give Swanny a couple more weeks to show something otherwise his out the door. You can have Cotch all to yourself though JD:D

What do i do with these spuds

I reckon at this point of the season you can't afford to have both Higgins and Ambrose starting in your forward line. For that reason I would go option 2 and look to upgrade Shenton in the next week or 2.

Depends on how many trades you have left and how many rookies you have on the ground.

Before trading either of them you'd wanna make sure you have upgraded all your rookies IMO, I'd also be trading Higgins/Suckling first if you have them.

If you 're happy with your team and got trades you'd like to use I'd trade Griffen first - more expensive and averaging 8 points less.

Unfortunately, he passed my low expectations of him this week
I was going to trade him if he scored <80, so what did he score? 81

Taylor > SJ (Shenton to F6)

(Log in to remove this ad.)

I am seriously considering bringing not one, but two MELBOURNE players IN! Watson to Nathan Jones and Langdon to Lynden Dunn... slightly foolish, but serious PODs with a team that is boringly similar to many, many others.
Was just looking at Dunn myself.
Langford to Hanley/Dunn/maybe someone else

Also went Tyson to J Selwood.

Just out of curiosity, why not Watson > Ward? Has been very solid all year barring that anomaly of 48 against the Doggies. Plus the bloke loves a tackle.

Looks like Watson to SJ will be popular this week.
I've got 14 trades left $28k in bank and went up from 190 to 76 overall this week!

Swallow, Mcveigh, Jaensch, Hooker, Suckling, Langdon (Langford/Cutler)
GAJ, Pendles, Beams, Selwood, Libba, Polec, Watson (Hartung/Shenton)
Sandi, Jacobs (Derrickx/Thurlow)
Danger, Martin, Gray, Zorko, Roughead, Higgins (Impey/Lloyd)

Think i will do the Watson to SJ & Higgins to Parker this week
i need to get some extra points into my backline next week (Bartel more than likely with a BE of 150)

I am 580 off top spot ... how far is to far?

Do i go for it or play it conservative (think i will give it a crack)

Currently got 9 trades left and 200K in the bank.

Plan is to trade Shenton to Pendlebury in the next week or 2, and Higgins to someone this week.

So my scenario is, do I trade Higgins to Parker (who I ideally want), which will then mean I'd need to use an additional trade to get Shenton to Pendlebury. Or do I do Higgins to Zorko and save myself a trade down the line.

So it would basically be Zorko, Pendlebury and 6 trades VS Parker, Pendlebury and 5 trades.

Only other player I want to trade eventually is Suckling so remaining trades would just be for injuries etc.

Thoughts?

Had a good look at Ward, trust me. Will be going Swan-Ward in 2 weeks time if Swan doesn't crack a ton or 2 before then. SJ at his price and run home i just can't pass up on right now, especially when i make 64k out of the trade, instead of spending a little extra for Ward.

With such low trades left i would go Zorko over Parker and bank the extra trade

5 trades remaining after proposed trades.
A few scenarios to ponder:

Watson>JPK/Pendles/Rockliff
Acres>ZOB

(Still leaves Shenton M8 & Cutler D6)

Watson>Treloar/Barlow/Goddard
Acres>C.Beams

(Loophole Shenton/c.Beams @M8, Cutler D6)

Watson>Montagna/Swallow
Shenton>Zorko

(Loophole Cutler/Litherland @D6 only)

Current team is
Swallow, McVeigh, Hibberd, Suckling, Hanley, McDonald (Georgiou, Cameron)
Ablett, Rockliff, Pendles, Beams, Griffen, Watson, Selwood, Langdon (Hartung, Acres)
Sandi, Cox (Currie, King)
Gray, Danger, Martin, Franklin, Shenton, Tex (Cameron, Honeychurch)

15 trades left and 50k in the bank

Couple of options this week
A) Watson> SJ and Langdon>Parker
B) Watson> SJ and McDonald>Shaw
C) Watson> A.Swallow and another trade thus leaving SJ until next week

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

I like the look of Swallow, north looking good so far, should avoid the tag with Boomer and NDS getting it each week. North also have a easy run home from what I've seen

Concerned about trades (9 left + $92.8K)) and need to get an upgrade in this week. Wanted to trade Fasolo this week but struggling to get enough cash for decent upgrade. Use extra trade or trade Higgins or someone else? Which option??

Option 1:
Fasolo > Bird / Parker + S. Lloyd > McGovern

Option 2:
Higgins > Bird / Parker

Option 3:
Higgins > MID Premo + S. Lloyd > McGovern

Or is there a better option?
