Trades Round 14 trades

Not sure I’ll trade for the second week in a row again. All my playing rookies are mooing nicely. Are there any good rookies on the bubble?

TarrynT has never been a keeper.

God I loved watching his class in the team. He is very lucky to be playing, but adds so much polish when right.

A definite cheap option for those in need though.

A cheap keeper is still a keeper.
Easily a top 5 player for North.
Looks great in all three zones of the ground.
Ratts and Clarko will be trying to get the ball into his hands as often as they can.
He’s fine as an F6.

Any legal issues that could see him miss games late in the year?

His case is up for a mention mid July.

Always possible I guess, but the club has been adamant he’s made the necessary off field improvements in his life.

My gut feeling is that he’ll play out the rest of the season, but can understand why others would form a different view.

Got 15 trades left and some holes to plug (and a need to gen cash) so this might be the week to bring in some mid pricers.

Could do angwin to fyfe, jvr to thomas and cincotta to rookie fairly comfortably.

Could also boost and grab himmelberg but i think i might wait til after his bye.

Stewart is the best player i dont have but his price wont shift a lot and i can grab him next week when one of ford or ashcroft go (i was going to trade briggs next week but i think i might hold him for now).

But he shouldn’t be a keeper, you are just claiming he is after one decent game. Look at his history. I understand he is a cheap option if you can’t afford a suitable premo though.

Few more than one good game mate.

And that was under a bloke who couldn’t coach.

If you have the money for Butters instead you would, but I reckon his scoring will be comparable to Cogs.

Deven Robertson ?

Agree but in 2022 played 10games for 54 average.
The circumstances have been well documented and IMO unlikely to be repeated.

Not saying everyone needs to jump on, I’m just saying that 1) I’m strongly considering him, and 2) that decision is based on more than his “one good game”.

My worry with Tarryn is how good in front of the football he is.

Still got LDU and Simpkin to return and with the rise of Wardlaw and Philips, plus Powell, I’m not sure he will be a regular in the on ball brigade (which he has been last 2 weeks), which could hurt his scoring in large patches of games.

The patch of scoring you refer to is also when he was playing huge stints in the midfield.

For that reason alone I’ll be letting him through to the keeper, but could see the reasons why someone may grab him.

M9/F7 keeper at worst if he stays fit IMO. Very handy player to have on your bench come end of season.

Reckon he's too important for them to let him play a non-productive role. I predict they'll move him to defence or some such if they have to get him more involved.

They could do that, but then you have multiple seagulls in Ziebell Sheezel and Hall occupying that area.

Big call but I reckon post bye you won’t get many scores like he produced yesterday when they have fit players return.

Yeah, but Hall is shit, and they've shown they're willing to move Sheez into the mids/fwd if it suits structure. TT's ball-use also light years ahead of Ziebell. Ultimately, reasonably confident Hall would just be dropped if that's what it takes to keep TT involved.

Its a fair point. (though he'll get more CBAs than Powell)

I think at this juncture it would be crazy to play both Tarryn and Sheezel forward while at the same time the team is relying on Hall and Ziebell to drive the rebound from defence.

Effective ball-movement out of defence is one of North's biggest problems.

Sure the longterm goal would be for them to play forward, but for the sake of setting and maintaining standards, we need at least one elite ball user back there.

Speaking of standards, Hall rarely holds his opponent to account. TT and Sheezel mostly do and TT in particular is hard as a cat's head.

Personally I would rotate Tarryn and Sheezel in more or less equal thirds def/mid/fwd depending on where they are needed.

TL;DR - our list isn't good enough to let TT play forward all the time.

Tbh im not sure if thomas will be a keeper but he will make 100k at least and be an easy upgrade to a keeper at the back end, so with the lack of rookies that will provide case gen right now i can see why people will do it.
