Dave keeps files on each ump. He makes it his business to know who is officiating each week. :D

He rates their games with angry faces

1 angry face is an okay game by that umpire - (Collingwood heavily favoured)

2 angry faces is a pathetic performance :mad: (match evenly umpired)

and you don't wanna know what happens when three angry faces appear :eek::eek:

The headless horsemen of the Apocalypse appear and the world ends?:drunk:

I don't like the idea of subbing in a defender so I'd count Oxley and Maynard out.

First choice Seedsman (although also a defender, he can also play wing), second choice... you know who. BK.

I'm more relaxed about the sub bench as long as its not a tall...hence Oxley not my first choice. Maynard could eaisly come on and not upset the balance just as much as Seedsman.

What do you think Bucks' plans (if any) will be for Priddis? He scooped all 6 Brownlow votes in our contests last year so obviously lifts when we play the black and white. Hard to effectively tag an inside player though...The way to make Priddis play poorly is to force him to kick, so I guess this means you lock down his handball options.

Last two times we let Beams go head to head, by that I mean they saw each other at the first bounce and did whatever for the rest of the game. Perhaps Greenwood might go to him.

Hopefully the sub is Seedsman so it limits his game time.
What's the deal with him? I haven't seen too many Pies games this year but every time i've seen Seedsman play he's chopping up. Doesn't seem to be a high opinion of him on here?

I'm quietly confident. West Coast have only lost once this year when they've won the centre clearances (8 from 9), and I think that's largely the influence of Naitanui speaking. I don't think it's coincidence that NN struggles against Sandilands, and WC's poor record against Fremantle (Freo won the hitouts 27-47 earlier this year in their big win over WC as well as winning clearances 26-44). Wittsy has a similar height to counter NN's leap, if he can negate NN's influence we'll go along way to winning this game. We need to get the ball inside 50 fast and isolate their undersized defenders 1v1, the best way to do that is from the centre.

Can't kick accurately.. can't defend.. isn't strong in contested situations.

Has a penetrating kick and good straight line speed but that's about it.

I don't disagree about NN being the reason we win centre clearances, and that he struggles against the freak ruckmen, but we've only lost three matches this season, so suggesting that '66% of the time you will beat WC if you win the centre clearances' is a weird bit of analysis.

Or am i missing something?

It'll be won here for sure IMO. I think if we tend to play our own game and play to Witts we'll get beaten. I think each midfielder needs to play 1v1 football at the bounces because IMO NN is just too good. I think it'll become apparent pretty quickly and if we are not switched on and counter it the game will end up like against PA and lost in the first 20 minutes.

Young with great potential and a bit up and down at times.....like all really young players.
Has won an Anzac day medal but never a spoon, so not all bad.

I'm saying you've won the centre clearances in 9 of your matches, and won the match as well the centre clearances in 8 matches. Along with Fremantle, your performance from the centre bounce has a higher correlation with success than for any other team.

I think you need someone intense and dynamic as sub - hence not the Seed. Blair or BK, or DGo/swan/faz etc.

One of the advantage of WC scoring so heavily is that it means we get more Centre bounces for Nic to contest

Without knowing the stats - I'd be guessing we'd be the best team at repeat goals largely due to his influence

Our midfield, despite being vastly improved and lauded - is very fragile when Nic isn't putting it on a platter.

If Collingwood go negative at the centre clearance and try and neutralise the contest - I think that'll go a long way to the pies winning.

The G is Melbourne's home ground as well

So what's your point? How many people are going to turn up to Melbourne v BL at the G, compared to Collingwood v WCE at the G? If we're forced to play home games at Etihad against "lower drawing teams", then I don't see why this also isn't applied to Melbourne.

I've said it countless times, an empty MCG is a sad look for the AFL, and makes no sense sending Collingwood to Etihad, while scheduling Melb v BL at the G.

Just saw a stat that said the Eagles are the worst in the league at stopping the opposition from marking on a lead in the oppositions forward 50.
Hopefully Cloke, White, Fas etc get on their bike and lead like maniacs when the ball is coming in, instead of standing there and waiting for it to be bombed long.
Kicking straight after taking the mark is another point altogether though.
