Its just embarrassing really by Hawthorn. Announced his debut. Family all goes to the stadium to watch... there's your son sitting on the pine in a jumper for 4 quarters... coool cool cool.

As much as i hate the stupid late change game by Scott the fact he said he will never debut a player as a sub is ****ing brilliant.

I have done something similar this week and a few times before so yes it is a tactic you can use if it makes sense for your team

I think every team saw that Downie "debut" including Hawks themselves and it was painfully obvious that was a dumb event never to be repeated in the history of the AFL. The mind boggles how someone thought that was a good idea.
