Can someone give me a good reason not to unload on Sydney H2H as well as a bit on Sydney 40+? West Coast team is similar to the 1 that got hammered by Essendon except we are missing Lynch and Hill. You are by far a better team than Essendon and you also play Subi well.

You have plenty of good matchups for Darling and although Cox may kick a few as I cant see a perfect matchup form him I cant see where any of our other goals will come from. Put a big body on Newman and he won't do anythign (see last week) Hams might get his suual 2 goals and 10 possessions but apart from that I'm not sure. Your half backs are going to run riot.
I believe your defensive unit is still intact and going well, mostly it's your fwd line that's been impacted and to a lesser extent midfield. I assume the Eagles will go in with a defensive mindset and try to restrict our scoring and marks inside 50, allowing quick rebound. Forward lines can be manufactured out of nowhere, look at Carlton last week. No don't put yr house on it, while I expect we will be better, given yr outs, one never knows how the ins will perform

With Waters out we really only have the 2 rebounding defenders in Schoefield and Hurn. Schoefield will msot likely be matched up on Goodes if he's forward so that leaves Hurn, making it easy to shut down our rebound. Stevenson may come in who is a rebounding defender but he can be massivley exposed defensively. Shepherd who is our other rebounding def option wil most likely play forward.

Masten and Shepherd will most likely be out starting half forwards. 2 players who have shown to be easy to run off in the past.

Definitely won't be my house but if my usual betting bank roll is 100 units it will be

450 units H2H
50 units 40+

Eagles are still the deserved favourites because the core of their midfield is still intact. Cox and Naitanui will have an edge over Mumford, who is still to recapture his best form and Pyke who has improved markedly but will still be outpointed by the best ruckmen in the league. Add to that the inside work of Priddis and Kerr, the offensive and defensive output of Scott Selwood, the outside run of Rosa and Gaff and the creativity of Masten and if the Swans can't match the Eagles in the midfield, it won't matter too much who lines up for the Eagles in the forward line.

Now that you put it that way.

I'm very worried about their ruck and midfield. That will decide the game IMO. Tipping WCE.

Agree it will be up to the Eagles midfield to get us over the line. They will also need to score a lot more goals than they have been if we are to win. I wouldnt say the midfield has been amazing this year. Those to have improved on last year have been Gaff, Scott Selwood and Masten. Masten will no doubt be playing up forward for most of the game rotating for small parts through the middle. Do you think Sydney will put a hard tag on Kerr? Will Jetta line up head to head on Gaff possibly? Priddis h2h with Kennedy?

Sydney don't do too many hard tags any more. We don't mind going head-to-head with our best midfielders against the opposition's. Having said that, Bird played on Rich last week (albeit poorly) and may get the job on Kerr IMHO.

Jetta won't be assigned anyone, he'll roam around Subi and position himself where he likes as he has done all season. It's up to West Coast to choose someone to match up on him, but I don't think Gaff will be the man. I suspect McGinnity is the more likely option and he'll be told to stay goal-side of Jetta at all times.

Hanners on Kerr?

Do you have anyone quick enough to tag Jetta? Seems unlikely, someone to try and get goalside of him maybe

Not really. Schoefield or Shepherd are the only 2 who might be able to go with him if we were to put a semi tag on. If we were to put a hard tag on him it would be Mginnity or Adam Selwood. Mginnity would try to go with him using his pace but there's no doubt in my mind Jetta would get too much of the ball if that duel were to occur. Adam Selwood is a very smart tagger and would stay goal side of him at all times, he's had a lot of success on Rioli in the past who is a similar player, maybe plays closer to goal. Wouldnt be able to go with him if they were to be chasing after the ball but is very good at using his body to win 1 on 1s. Jetta may lose him if he were to play further up the ground though.

Big call to not tag Kerr. The games he's a big influence on this year he hasnt been tagged. Put a hard tag on him and he tends to go missing big time as well as allowing his tagger to get some ball himself

Just a message for those lucky enough to be going to game on Sunday...

If you sit on the southern side of the ground, don't forget to bring your sun glasses. That setting sun reflecting of Jude's receding hairline makes it near on impossible to see any action.

Eagles by plenty............................................ of points and free kicks ;)

Jack tagged Kerr last year and did a great job in limiting Kerr to just 13 possies and gathering 23 himself but I think KJ might attract a tag himself on Sunday, probably in the form of Scott Selwood
I don't mind if Kizza takes Selwood out of teh game, lurks about our forward 50 and bangs a couple thru

Wow! Sound like your team's gone then!!

Psychologically a huge game for you blokes. If you cant beat us with Waters, Lecras, Kennedy, Nicoski, Embley, Waters, Hill, Lynch and Shuey out, there's something very very wrong. :)

A lot of precious Sydney supporters around regarding our injuries. Lets remove 85% of your goals kicked from last year and see how confident you guys feel. Get a clue.

I doubt anyone said its impossible for us to win. At best you could say its 50/50.

Oh don't worry, we will make sure no one has a clue who is going to win until the last 60 second of the game...

You mean Goodes and Reid? Goodes did miss 6 weeks and even now hasn't kicked many.. and Reid has struggled up until recently.
