Thanks Dr. Kappa.

Lots of videos online about body builders ripping their pec tendon and speaking to the best American surgeons and yeah, u can’t 100% repair a fully ruptured tendon. It’s like trying to sow something onto a slab of beef, it will never be as strong as it was before

Anyone think we should tell the afl to stick round zero also playing 30 mins and losing by 12 points is better then being Richmond
The AFL can also shove the annual Marvel home game against a Marvel tenant and the annual Easter away game to the lions especially with gather round now either side of that weekend.

That’s like someone saying tearing your hamstring tendon off the bone will make your hamstring weaker and ur like “oh mY GoD uR so NegAtiVe”
Nothing like that at all .. you always look at everything in the most negative of ways.

The same could be said for an AFL player rupturing their ACL. It's probably going to affect them as much as a bodybuilder/weightlifter tearing a pec.

But as we know, plenty of AFL players go on to have highly successful careers after rupturing their ACL.

We don't even know which tendon and how bad it is. Missing the rest of the season is only 2 1/2 months. How about we wait for the official diagnosis and not jump to worse case scenario

Wow.
That game was everything we are not over that past 2.5 seasons.

Absolutely dominated in the air. That was unbelievable.

Number 1 thing we cannot have is intercept marks.
If that ball doesn’t come to ground, we are toast. Last night Kruegs and checkers got 10000% owned in the air.

Once they took the mark, we backpedaled and gave them all the space to chip it fwd.
no wonder our pressure rating was at its lowest.
Trying to understand why we didn’t press up at any point. Bizarre.

Defensively we got owned in the air as well.
Which isn’t fully the fault of defenders given the mids, but at some point there needs to be some energy and effort.

So annoyed they left Nick in the middle.
Was clear in the first he was getting held and blocked….so why leave him there?
Send him to HB for the 3rd to free him up.

He looks tired.
Most of our players are hobbling or look to be carrying stuff (bobby has been limping for weeks, IQ, Cameron clearly carrying ribs, Pendles bicep is still stuffed as he can’t tackle, Josh, Maynard etc etc)

Hope the coaches finally learn that JDG and Nick cannot play in CB together.
Feel like a broken record here!!
Doubt they will (as many on here seem to think your best players just have to play in the middle!)

Lastly, two rucks makes a massive difference to us last night.
Contest in the air defensively and also down the line. They marked everything against kruegs and Cameron couldn’t go with Draper when he ran fwd.

That allowed them free use defensively (which allowed them to keep
Possession) and also shots on goal (because Cameron got caught too far fwd).

Our mids got smacked, but that wasn’t the reason….just didn’t help!

Without the 2011 result.
Care to acknowledge that?

Remember we would play 1/2 quarters of footy and everyone just expected us to turn it on come finals.

Unfortunately we were not the same team.

I actually said to my daughter, gees we are kicking low, as soon as we started kicking high we were screwed!

I’m just repeating what top level American surgeons have said, argue with them I guess.

Thanks Dr. Google.

It’s funny seeing all these complaints about Moore

Moore is actually playing the same as he always has. Murphy just isn’t there to cover for him

All this poor positioning, bad one on one, running up too high, jogging back slowly etc etc is stuff he’s always done

But Murphy was always there to cover for him and often allowed him to play with that freedom which means his intercept attempts were more effective

Losing Murphy has absolutely destroyed us defensively. Gonna be looked back on in the years to come as arguably one of the biggest injury losses of the last decade or more given what it’s costing us

I thought Moore was good. He and Sidey held the defence together.

Checkers was spanked by Laverde. Jayden ****ing Laverde. Meanwhile the actual Essendon KPDs in McKay and Ridley alternated between Kreuger and Howe.

Checkers got the third string defender tonight and couldn't compete, Kreuger got top banana more often than not and made a fist of it.

I’d have thought Laverde was their best matchup for Checkers. Similar size, quick, good overhead. The issue for us wasn’t so much the matchup as our offensive transition and ball use inside F50.

I'm probably clutching at straws here but I remember this time last season we went through increased training loads and looked very flat vs blues and Hawks. But by finals eve we were tip top. I hope the same thing is happening.
Doubtful

We had the ability to do that because we’d only lost 2 games at that point.

Can’t be doing heavy loading now. We need to win most of the remaining games. Already lost as many as we can afford really.

We are a few goals worse than last year, mainly defensively than offensively.
The main issue im seeing since the Dogs game is that we aimlessly sending a defensive mid or defender up the ground to unrealistically try put pressure on the ball carrier and opposition are looping over very easily, then repeat it on the next chain. We are out of sync and maybe a second or two off pace. We have the energy to have it in our favour for 1 and half quarters a game and burn out. Then this all makes sense with above average injuries interrupting fitness, the aging list and the players put in above and beyond in training last year to have an advantage.
This year's decline is easier to take having won the flag when we started a rebuild in 2021 and postponed it on a final successful crack.
