Really we're the most mentally fragile team in the league. You can't turn desperation on from off. you either have it or you don't win premierships.

I mean, the Lions are reading it........Reading Twitter, jurno’s rapt they can keep the lions at MCG narrative going
Fages is a great man manager but tactically he isn’t up there with the other coaches. Spot on about Gunston as the spare. Did absolutely nothing while the Dees had the extra around the ball.Players started by going in to their shells
Fagan guaranteed the loss by putting Gunston back.
Chris - it doesn’t work! He got 2 possessions doing it in the first quarter and kicked it straight back to them!
It tells every player okay just hang on here
It also means Gunston stays on the ground when he should be off to have some run
And it gave melbourne an extra around the ball
Honestly Fagan might be the worst match-day coach in the comp
What upsets me the most is how many posters did say after he dropped himself that the coaching team would hand him a return against the eagles rather than bringing him back through the VFL where there would be less of a chance he would look good.I know he's an easy target but Gunston is past it. I know he kicked three but we looked so much better with Rayner playing his role. He is cooked but he looks certain to play the year out.
Us learning a lesson? Not likelyNegative pathetic football. Hope we learn a solid lesson from that last 15
It's ok mateYou mean I can't have an opinion about my team?
Sick of these supporters who can't remove their rose-coloured glasses.
I don't intend to fuel anything but take away your last sentence and I agree in totality with the rest of it.Players started by going in to their shells

O always starts really far back. Not sure why, he often seems to get beaten to the throw in.Not that it means much but Gawn had 215 SuperCoach points tonight. Gotta be some sort of record. Took the game away from us. Why was O so far back at the throw ins?
He was quiet but we didn't lose from lack of pointsGotta say Charlie Cameron was very poor again tonight.
That was my issue with playing Lyons instead of Robertson in the middle. Cant afford to have 2-3 mids at a time that aren’t defensively accountable for their direct opponent.Harsh because Gunston kicked 3 goals, but our forward half pressure looks far better with the two tall forward set up. We also run out games far better with an extra runner out there.
Unaccountable midfield killed us again in the first 10 and last 10 minutes. Dunkley out leaves a massive void.
Some senior players making brain farts under pressure too. Lester going for goal and lobbing it to three Melbourne defenders with a free man in the 50 comes to mind.
Can’t sugarcoat it. It was a choke.
We were on the brink of putting the hoodoo stuff to bed and instead we’ve added to the mythology.
That is going to be the key takeaway, which is unfortunate because we played some of the best football we’ve played this year in the second and third quarter. It could have been a game that set the blueprint for September. Maybe internally they will manage to build on that but externally the narrative will go elsewhere.
I’m not as down on Fages as others but he will rightfully be asked why he went defensive so early in the 4th.
Geez we missed Dunkley in the clinches late. It was the difference.
I don't remember making that thread.A really astute poster made a thread a couple of years ago asking some hard questions about Oscar and he was SHOUTED DOWN!
I agree ,there wasn't much on and he should've kicked it . Or at least a point which as it turns out would've been useful.I was pretty much behind froggy and thought he was justified having a shot, he just scuffed it.
That's what makes no sense at all. We were better defensively when we were playing our style of game not surprisingly. What could have been...So our attempt at going defensive and shutting a game down means Melbourne kick over 100 for the first time in a dozen games.
Awesome.
Such a stupid stupid decision.
Nope, just a massive liabilitywas Bez injured?
