I obviously get people being upset but this might well go down as the game that makes us. They learn more they’re losing than winning. I’m excited to see how they rebound.
No doubt the players will be gutted, we were the better side for most of that game, why the F we try to close down games so early has got me gobsmacked and angry.

Imagine what Chris Scott could do with this list.

Can’t sugarcoat it. It was a choke.

We were on the brink of putting the hoodoo stuff to bed and instead we’ve added to the mythology.

That is going to be the key takeaway, which is unfortunate because we played some of the best football we’ve played this year in the second and third quarter. It could have been a game that set the blueprint for September. Maybe internally they will manage to build on that but externally the narrative will go elsewhere.

I’m not as down on Fages as others but he will rightfully be asked why he went defensive so early in the 4th.

Geez we missed Dunkley in the clinches late. It was the difference.

I doubt it. They will probably have a nice little win next week at home against the Cats, but as soon as finals come around and we have to make a trip to the 'G it'll be same old, same old. This team just does not have it in them. Neither does the coaching staff.

The mentally weakest Brisbane Lions side I've ever supported. Been a member since Fitzroy days.

No idea how to put a team away.

Don't even turn up to September you pathetic pack of pretenders.
That’s pretty harsh mate .

So, now can we please acknowledge that Oscar is a second string ruck and Joe just can't be bothered.

Answer.....Fort plays ruck, Oscar plays VFL.

FFS!

A really astute poster made a thread a couple of years ago asking some hard questions about Oscar and he was SHOUTED DOWN!

Harsh because Gunston kicked 3 goals, but our forward half pressure looks far better with the two tall forward set up. We also run out games far better with an extra runner out there.

Unaccountable midfield killed us again in the first 10 and last 10 minutes. Dunkley out leaves a massive void.

Some senior players making brain farts under pressure too. Lester going for goal and lobbing it to three Melbourne defenders with a free man in the 50 comes to mind.

I was pretty much behind froggy and thought he was justified having a shot, he just scuffed it.

Heat will be on Fagan but not the end of the world. We stopped playing in the last and our defensive tactics was a joke with 5 minutes on the clock.
Finally a close game and just got to hope the coaching staff learn from it. I was worrierd pre-game that we haven't had any close ones this year.

Serious concerns on Zorko. Can't carry him if he can't run out the game. On the bench from the 10 minute mark left till 3 minutes left in the 4Q and didn't offer much. Need more runners in the team if we are to play the 3 tall lineup.

Us bombing it long and watching the Dees rebound full of run was hard to watch.
It might not be the end of the world but and this is a really important but, it’s all but killed our chances at top 2 leaving our most likely opponent as Port in Adelaide which is not where I would prefer to play them.

We sometimes think of 'hoodoos' mentally affecting the players, but it's sometimes easy to forget that Fagan and co are just as susceptible to being mentally fragile in this situation.

The saddest part about this loss is it’s not at all entirely surprising to any of us. It’s hard to cop, but other than Hollow Knight who legitimately was confident we were going to hold on in the last there?

These types of losses shouldn’t be happening with our experience in the group, both from a player perspective and a coaching perspective.

I know Fages hates the hard questions and cracks the shits if someone puts a hard word onto him, but at some point they have to answer, why do we keep producing results like this?
