From what I've read of Simpson, he wasn't the slightest bit interested in individual player's milestones (eg-Jakes Coleman) nor did he expect the players to be overly interested. He expected them to be focussed on the team thing first.
So I doubt it's on Schofield's mind either...the 300 thing like the credits thing is a bit of fiction that gets repeated so much it's mistaken for fact.
I am not sure that I agree with you re individual player milestones. I know he made the comment about JW and the Coleman.
But on the other hand he did go on a bit about legacy players. What is a legacy player other than one who has individually achieved a lot and has a place in club history?

Would Simpson himself have been happy to retire on 298 games?

Not sure why the club needed to basically release a press release statement for dropping Jack Darling , it’s almost like they had to get permission from him first😂

It’s a significant moment. Darling has been an absolute warrior for the club and has, at times, been unfairly maligned. As mentioned it’s the first time he’s been dropped in his career

So much like the sacking of Simpson this week, even though this was arguably inevitable and overdue, it’s still a little sad. And another little marker in the clubs rebuild

Gaff probably wondering where his write up for being dropped was

His omission earlier this year was announced by Simpson in his regular CH7 Monday night interview, presumably to cut short a few days of speculation

So an article wasn’t needed

What is best in life Schofield?

To crush my underperforming seniors. See them dropped before me and hear the lamentations of their fan boys.

Feel for Jack but 100% the right move by the club. Simpson has paid the price and now it's clear to all that the playing group will also be facing the music.

Line in the sand stuff and well overdue.

Yeah definitely no sadness on my end, more excitement he should of been dropped ages ago , sure this dropping won’t change much ,hell we might get spanked by 60+pts on the weekend but least we can see what this young team is gonna start looking like going forward.

Guess he won’t be getting that 2 year contract extension he wanted.😂

Overall good changes but not sure I’d be picking Edwards off an 18 possession game. To me he’s like Trew thats gone at seasons end. At least Trews putting the work in the two’s

Oh Me Darling... Oh Me Darling...Gonna end up like Coxy just short of 300. Treasure chest is gonna be loaded come 2025.
Darling has a contract for next year... I expect he will play on 1 more year as depth, and should be enough games to get to 300 anyway

calling it now JJ to be the sub
I think he's the best sub option we have tbh. Can play at either ends of the ground or even in the middle and has pace for an injection in the second half. He's also not very good so it's worth not having him on the ground all game.

His role in the squad going forward should be a specialist sub instead of the merry go round of young player in > young player sub > young player dropped of the past.
