Thought Moyle was massive for them. Felt like every time we kicked a goal they got the next centre clearance. Thought he destroyed sweet.

Still haven't solved the ruck puzzle. Arguably worth just giving Visentini the rest of the season - at least he has time on his side.

Lord too. We’ve seen a number of young tall forwards come on this year competition wide. He’s not one of them unfortunately. He was playing on a similarly aged and built young defender and got walloped. He rarely played from in front. Rarely contested. Poor showing.
Agreed, no doubt like many I had high hopes for Lord after that 4 goal effort in that final against brisvegas, but take that one game out of his resume and he hasn't done much apart from the occasional good thing here and there in either the AFL or the SANFL.

A change of coach may help, but I doubt we can put too much blame on kern, or chadbro for Ollie being as uncompetitive as he was today.

we have nankvervis vs sweet next week. my advice would be to captain nankervis in afl fantasy/supercoach.

Moyle was super although I didn’t think Sweet was too bad except in the first quarter. But I agree, we need to get Visentini in.

He’s a 6-8 possession, 1 goal per game forward almost every week. The difference this year is it doesn’t look like he’s competing hard. Last year you could see him straining every muscle to get to contests and at least halve them. Today and in other games this year, he’s had the Finlayson-Marshall appearance of it all being too hard for him. Gives up way too easily and is far too reactive to his opponent leading him to the ball.

Players looked uninterested again.

Playing a high possession low risk game by foot and a high risk, low reward game when handballing. Definitely a style suited to going deep in the finals, makes sense to tune it at this point of the season.

I seen things in that first half I’ve never seen on a footy field ever.
It was like watching channel 10 in the 70’s with the Benny Hill show.
No coach can fix that because you can’t fix stupid and we done some unbelievable things in that first half.
Players knocking over players it was totally embarrassing at times.

I thought we might struggle up forward today with MG and Rioli both out and there was just nothing up there that looked dangerous.
We not only need a new coach but we need a real hard arse who’s going to demand real discipline.
We give away to many stupid frees
We have no idea what’s going on around us that’s why we take out our own players.
Our players get reported for stupid things at the worst time possible.
There’s just no accountability for anything.

I honestly feel sorry for the next coach we get who will have to straighten out this mess and be prepared to make hard decisions no matter who it is.
What makes it worse with all this is we still only lost by 14 points.
Extremely frustrating stuff.

help me understand this. we had SIX of the 8 highest possession getters out there today

what. the....

in Any case, idgaf

Useless sideways/ backwards kicks that Gold Coast were happy to give up.

Marks 88 to 134! Lol.

Thought we were smashed in the centre and were toothless up forward.

The ball movement was actually pretty good, the talent is just so bad in the forward half

Lets get TeeKray in here to tell us how good Charlie is lol

Let's get JimmyBC in here to tell us how good Hot Toddy is lol

Although I will give him the benefit of the doubt, he might have got a possession today at some point if he didn't get injured.

No Georgiades/Rioli/SPP and Marshall for the most part makes our forward line look absolutely woeful.

Dixon can't even get to a contest, Finlayson can but can't be arsed, Lord is just not visible for 80% of the game

Dixon will have the awareness to retire even though hes still arguably our best tall forward

Boak will 100% play on

hmmm
I know he’s only a borderline tall, but Georgiades is the only tall forward who commands the ball and plays like a key forward this year. Saying that Dixon is arguably our best of the rest is really a reflection on Marshall’s inability to come on since 2022, and Lord not kicking on this year.

Hopefully Dixon and Boak retire.

Boak should have already retired or dropped himself so Lorenz could stay in. He wont retire

Dixon’s performance was exactly what this board would have predicted.
How is it that a group of anonymous footy tragics on the internet can see what our coaches can’t?

Maybe we offer our services as a virtual coaching unit via Teams.
Dixon doesnt play because he is best available, he plays because he has shares in greyhounds and is willing to pot the fans to protect the coaches.

All the next coach of this club needs to do to start with is instil selection integrity & he'll have us on side within five seconds.
Certainly we need a fresh look at the list and giving long serving but no longer elite players a fond farewell and trying out the players who we think might make it in time for the long journey back to being top 4 and a threat.
