Well if you want to talk about performing at AFL level then who could they have brought in instead of Brand or Schoey that has performed better at AFL level?
Thought u would never ask,
I would ask burton to step up play chb before I brought brand in.

I would play big pit over schoe who been battling Injury and form for 5yrs. Play a guy who was a gun at tac level, and he show that form in the vfl this yr, he is 3rd for hitouts to advantage.

To me brand and schoe are band-aid solutions play Pitt and running half back like glass or nash.

right so you are complaining that we bring in players that haven't performed at AFL level and left out players that haven't performed at AFL level, got it

you've also decided Pitt won't get picked before the team has been finalized, you could at least wait until 5pm to start your whinging about that, you never know you might be surprised

I'm not winging you just cant handle someone with a different opinion to the mc.
Pitt may well get picked let's hope.

But you missed the point which is where bring in players who continue to disappoint at afl level we have seen there ceiling.
Let's bring in players who we are yet to see play at AFL level who are knocking the door down.

tonight's game reminded me that around this time last year the Saints beat the Tigers by 10 goals

imagine being a Saints supporter and giving your Tiger mate shit after that game, would have been a long 12 months to tonight's game :)

nah I get your idea of a point, it's the same one shouted around here all the time, play the kids they might be better, this players is shit someone who's never played is better, they aren't even VFL standard etc

You complain about Pittonet not getting a game when he's been named on the bench and the team hasn't been finalized, he couldn't play the week before because he rolled his ankle.

You complain about Schoey getting a game because Lewis might be better in the future, never mind he's shown he can be a competent role player, never mind that he's a mature body who can help out up forward, especially if they are going to play Gunston back

You complain about Brand because Carlton have nobody tall even though they named Casboult, who else are we going to bring in? He's the only KPD we have on the list other than Frawley

We have a lot of posters who complain about our lack of depth and then complain about picking fringe players to cover for injuries or to replace other fringe players that aren't performing

Do I think the MC gets everything right? Hell no, but they don't have many choices right now

Normally I think you're FOS, mainly feels like you moderate from a club directive angle rather than an impartial contributor but I have to say I actually agree with you.

Schoe has very rarely let us down when fit and asked to play that structured CHF role, he has really decent hands, has excellent leading patterns and is a brilliant set shot. Many forget he is a very early draft pick and is aptly skilled for a big man, I agree as a whole he has been a let down, we would all like greater and more sustained output from him but I feel he is a genuine good choice at CHF.

It was hard to compliment you so I had to give you a backhander before doing so ;)

Well played your sig, very true, I should copy

I'd love everyone that runs out for us to be a star but the reality is most players for most clubs are limited in some way

that's not really a bad thing though as long as you don't have too many players with the same limitation, we had a pretty good game plan to cover the lack of leg speed in most of our midfield during the premiership years, but you can only do so much with game plan, it's why Hill and Smith on the wings were so important, they could and did do a lot of defensive running to cover for guys like Mitchell and Lewis (who did a ton of work between the arcs but couldn't get back or forward as quickly as those two) and they certainly made up for their deficiencies in other ways

Schoey has his limitations as a player but he's better in the contest than Timmy and if Ceglar is rucking the majority of the game he was the best big body to bring in that could actually kill a contest in our forward line. That's not his strength, as you say with his leading patterns and work up the ground but when he is inside 50 he gives us a better fight than Timmy.

It will be interesting to see whether Pitto gets named tonight

I feel as though this game will go one of two ways:

Carlton lift to for their 'Grand final' to defy the odds and the press, and with Bolton's ex-Hawk intell produce their best game of the year and upset us with a memorable 2-3 goal victory
or
We come out breathing fire after last week's embarrassment and smash them by 10 goals +

No idea which it will be though...

Will be a worry if he does tbh, Ceglar and Shoey is an insanely slow forward line.

Schoey isn't insanely slow and he's much better at keeping the ball in the forward 50 if he doesn't get the mark than Ceglar

we will find out soon enough who is in, have to wait a bit longer to see if it works though

I was of that opinion but a few times I have seen him at Box Hill this year he's looked really really slow, maybe he was carrying a niggle in those games, well hopefully anyways.

yeah he's had Achilles problems so he could be slower than usual
