Fortitude and a bunch of blokes who play for each other.

There's a lesson in there for some of the pods of puss who post in the matchday thread, who seem to live for the moments they can stick the boots into their own.

Go Pies!
So glad I haven't had access to the match thread the past 3 weeks. Not that I post much in it. To avoid 'pod of puss' status is indeed a relief greatly desired, though I suspect it's an upgrade on a pot of puss, depending, of course, on the size of the pod you've been assigned.

I'm in awe of this team. The never say die attitude is at GOAT levels.

This is a significant win away from home in hostile territory against a fellow premiership contender. It was far from perfect and Port gave us a tough game, but we also showed that we're capable of absorbing extreme pressure and turning the game on its head within a short space of time.

Murphy was the rock of our defence. Saved us multiple times through the second and third quarters when we were under siege by Port's attacking players. He was BOG for mine.

Elliott is the ICEMAN! A player who can kick a goal from anywhere in the most clutch moment of the game and do it on a regular basis shows it's no fluke. What a player he's been for the club.

Brilliant 200th by Tay Adams, and a wonderful selfless act by Jamie to give him an easy open goal and enjoy the spotlight for a brief moment.

I've never seen anything like it. I'm still in awe as to how this team keeps producing this so frequently. We've been blessed as supporters since Fly became our coach.

Onto the arch-enemy next Friday night

A pod is squashable. Something like a pimple.

A bucket-worth is a troubling sort of vision, you sick f***, but I suppose it's an apt description of the matchday thread.

I came here to post 2 things.

1. This side is bad for my heart but good for my soul.
2. Some of the posters in the game day thread shouldn't have the face to post here after a game like this. If they can't keep their negativity and bile to themselves until the game has finished then GTFO; you're pea-hearted and fickle AF and have no place in this joint.

Jamie Elliott for PM.
💯 on all points

I kept calm and was never worried.

True I swear!!

Nick Daicos got sat back on his arse tonight. Drew got the points. But, he fought back in the last. Credit to the kid. A great time to get a reality check. The big boys come out at finals. He will learn from tonight and be better for the next hot game. I’m rapt that he had this type of game tonight.

Astounding that wasn’t paid.
There were plenty missed and plenty ignored.
Throws, holding the ball for several days, Boak hand balling over his head to get the boundary high tckles hold, front on contact,
A long list.
Pies just thumbed there nose at the maggots.

It was a grinding win against a strong team, and we had a bunch of players who did play great games, like Elliot, Sidey, Murphy and Crisp. Beau had some great moments too. And the belief and skill to finish from the Daicos' and Hill were priceless.

So much heart in this team; but wins like this are bad for MY heart!
There was also that effort from Bobby to get to the ball just before the line on the wing.
You just knew it would have been a free to them for insufficient attempt had he not touched it.

Don't know how we won. Your team was impressive. Well played to you guys. If we meet in the finals it will be anyone's game on the strength of this match.

I know exactly how you won and why you almost always win......skill. skill to hit targets and skill to not waste precious shots at goal.

We on the other hand just spray piss everywhere in front of goal.

A pod is also the collective noun for killer whales

Killer whale pus would be pretty bad, JB

Thanks for the image, a-hole.

I didn't think carefully enough about it before I posted. I even misspelt pus.

I'll try harder to suppress my passion before posting.
