Please tell me that you guys are getting massively ahead of yourselves, allowing us to sneak through with a miraculous win... :$
I dont think it will be as easy as most are making out .. some ridiculous margins being tipped. Our backline really hasn't got itself sorted out so anything can happen!

Well, our forward line really hasn't got itself sorted out either, so... yes, anything could happen... including the Benny Hill music.

GWS lost to Melbourne in Round 1 last year. Went on the break out in a big way. Let's wait another few weeks to make all these huge statements.

Interesting point though, its Cripps' 100th against his old club.

With great loss comes great opportunity. Armo unavailable, gives another mid the opportunity to show they offer more than him & make the starting mid position their own. Jack Steele.
Well the one who really needs to step up is IMO definitely Lukey-D, who's spot in the team might have been saved by Armo going down.

This is of course the team he had his all-time best game of 29 disposals (15 contested), 7 clearances and two goals against, at this venue (in just his 3rd game), so we ideally need him to step it up to a similar type level tomorrow.

For his own sake he needs a game somewhat like that to help make sure he isn't the one who makes way for Armo (or Koby) when he's ready in a week or two.

Barrass and Sheed good ins.
Barrass should have played last week. Mackenzie just isn't up to it anymore.
Sheed is a good in if he gets his hands on it
Giles.. well thats just necessary ha.

How is Dunstan tracking?
Sheed has a lot of upside if he can stay fit and get consistent minutes at AFL level... we saw that in 2015.

He's killing it, some weeks he gets 15 possessions as a full time mid. We don't really have anyone to replace him so he should have been developing confidence in the VFL but he plays every available game.

How we can win.

Luke Dunstan to get 29 disposals , 15 contested, 7 clearances. If you could do it against the Eagles 3 years ago Luke , you can bloody do it now or gtfo.
Jack Steven and Seb Ross , just do what you did last time you played them guys , don't back off just because Dunstan is doing stuff.
Jack Steele. Pretend you are playing AGAINST StKilda in 2015.
Blake Acres. See if you can pick up where you left off last year.
Paddy McCartin. You've never kicked more than 2 goals Paddy, and never played West Coast. 3 or 4 would be nice, and don't hit your head.
Josh Bruce. never kicked more than 2 against west coast. It's been a while since we've seen 5, would be nice.
Lonie, I want at least 2 from you.
Hickey, Giles/Vardy should be easy to beat in the ruck, so tap the ball to Luke , and hmmm a few clearances and help the boys out with some contested ball.
Brown, Carlisle, Roberton, Geary, Webster. Just stop them getting it. Jarryn if you let Jamie kick a bag you are demoted.
Membrey, Failed to score and 5 disposals last time. Whole team gets to slap you if you do it again.
Billings, once got 30 disposals and 2 goals. Go back Jack, and do it again. ( wheels turning round and round you go back jack do it again. Sitar break ).
Gresham and Joey, normal day at the office guys.

There . Simples!

Luke has stagnated.

Got off to a terrific start to his career, with regular 20+ disposal games prior to him doing his shoulder about half way through that first year, but since then he's really struggled to get over 20 disposals regularly.

Don't think that running and being able to spread being more important than ever has done him any favours, nor of course has the fact he's had to have both shoulders reconstructed, after injuring them pretty badly at times when he was going well.

Its a shame when kids start off with a bang then get ****ed over by injury pretty soon after. Dunno whether it screws up their confidence in their body or whether it just has an impact meaning they lose agility/speed/free movement etc.
Hopefully he comes good. Great opportunity for him to have a crack tomorrow night.

I want Steele to go troppo in the WA heat and tackle to hurt. He is built like a bull, no one can tag Sam Mitchell but someone could tackle him so hard his intestines come out of his mouth. That possibly made me sound like a psychopath but you get the gist.

I reckon we need to just stop Kennedy and that will go a long way to winning. If Brown could stop him kicking a big score and we can get Geary on to La Cras we should keep them to a low enough score to make us not collapse.

We need our tall forward line to score heavily, we don't score huge amounts of goals from our small forwards so need them to at least all get back on the score board. Hickey needs to start getting us clearances too. i reckon it's our midfield that let us down most last week, I would put Montagna back in the middle.

The first one in particular clearly really messed with him. He injured it about half way through that first year, but he bravely played on for several weeks with it (before the reconstruction, after about R19), during which time his numbers dropped. He then struggled big-time the following season and it was then reported at the end of that year that he'd had a lot of ongoing issues with the reconstructed shoulder throughout that season, which also meant he wasn't playing in his preferred inside position anywhere near as much as he otherwise would have- presumably to protect his shoulder. His confidence and form both took big hits. He was very very lucky that we didn't have anyone decent to replace him with, as he would have been out of the team if we did, I imagine.

Then last year he continued to struggle for about the first half of the year, but then he started to finally get his old spark back (although not his old numbers) and he played about 5 good weeks in a row (where he seemed much more like old self again), but then he dislocated the other shoulder and off for another reco!

In his first game back from that he played very well in JLT1 this year, but since has been passed by Jack Steele at a rate of knots, which has IMO put his place in the team in jeopardy going forward, as he doesn't have the versatility to play anywhere but the guts to an acceptable level and there are only so many spots there.

I reckon if Stevens stays off the oysters he could fall behind him pretty quickly too.
