Hopefully when Stanley is in the ruck, the saints use his pace to there advantage! It's pretty much having an extra on baller. Mumford/Giles won't be able to keep up with him

Wouldn't be surprised if Longer is a late in who for i am not sure.

I think we might play Longer, Stanley, Maister and Roo.

Wouldn't mind seeing Gilbert spending time in the midfield . Just think he will give us something different as a marking target /link up thru the corridor ala fyfe. Don't think GWS would have a good match up for him in the middle

Wasn't expecting many changes and am not particularly surprised that Bruce isn't in. Perhaps we are considering playing Rhys down back after how well he did down there against them last year and if so I wouldn't be surprised to see Longer come in for someone or other, perhaps Wright.

Otherwise, I guess it will be Gilbo on Cameron and Delaney and Gwilt on Patton and Giles/Mumford.

Very interesting that GWS didn't bring in Tomlinson to play on Roo (although they still may). Don't see an obvious match-up for him in the backline they named.

I actually think the Saints can win this game. The two inclusions in Hayes and Montagna will boost your chances of winning significantly. With Hayes being the Saints best inside midfielder and Montagna being the most effective outside midfielder, both will give St Kilda the slight edge in the midfield and this will mean they could gain the ascendency and win the inside 50's and give the key forwards in Riewoldt, Maister and Stanley enough opportunities to kick a winning score. Some of the younger players like Curren, Newnes and Hickey are on the verge of having a breakout 2014 season and their development will be vital going forward.

Prediction: St Kilda by 15 points

I think Maister will be out and Longer will come in, with Stanley to switch back to defence.

But that leaves us with only Roo and one of Longer/Hickey as the tall targets up forward and that isn't enough. We'll likely be looking to expose them for their lack of height in defence, like teams did to us last year, not do them a big favour and go short up forward. It wouldn't surprise me if we go with all of Hickey, Longer, Stanley, Roo and Beau and just see how it pans out and sub off one of them if we find we're too tall, or if one of them is struggling.

Prefer him as our spare man in defence, experience in this role is key and Sam's input into last week's win was vital, even though it wasn't lauded widely.

I'm stoked with GWS's outs....

Palmer
may not have the best disposal efficiency but he gets plenty of ball & knows where to run.
Shiel is their best bullocking inside youngster
Davis is their best defender.

With Hayes & Joey back in, we've added 450+ worth of games experience

We should win well

I've always believed that players should have to earn their spot and not be picked on name alone. I just think if Richo was to pretty much keep unchanged lineup the confidence that will give the kids that played and performed like they did would be so beneficial long term. Why not show faith in them again, they've earnt it after winning against the odds.

I know it will never happen though & they'll come straight back in!!
It's an interesting point. Certainly one that would be valid IMO if they were dropped originally for form, rather than a soft suspension and an injury.
