I traded this week not next because I have another corrective trade to make next week. 50k or whatever was just a bonus but it was a structural change n pendles appears like he would've been out of reach had I not sacrificed a M/F premium. Obviously not an ideal situation and a little unconventional but goodes will come back in at some stage. He's traditionally a slow starter so hoping I can get him at a discount. I didn't envision lake as a keeper anyway cos I think there'll be a lot of up n down scoring. Mohr I would've had to bring in anyway so barring a catastrophe I'll have all the early cows n a restructured team with 3 trades made. Again not ideal but im happy to admit that my initial structure 4-2-1-6 wasnt gonna cut it.
I'm curious regarding your trading out a forward premium for a mid premium doesnt make sense comment though. I would've thought it made a lot of sense? Historically most of the 'safe' points are scored in the middle with a lot less deviation, and with pendles especially sky's the limit regarding his big point potential.

Goodes is about as safe as it comes in the forwards although he does tend to get a little better as the season goes on. He is also about as durable as it comes too. But yes I agree that most of the "safe" points are in the the middle. Just a shame to lose Goodes to gain Pendles so early in the year.

My structure is a 3-6-1-3 based on the "safe" points with less deviation in the middle theory. Not to mention have been in the hunt for overall 3 years running and wanted to try something a little different to the norm to see if it would give me an edge. It has sort of paid off although broughton as a back premium and having magner on the bench in the middle has me thinking of a possible restructure. Mumford's 0 didn't help me this round either but will keep the faith with him.

Yeah in hindsight possibly Martin or Pavlich even would've been a better choice but not a lot i can do now.

I actually wanted to try that structure but couldnt settle on the mids i wanted. Who did you go for in the end? What was your overall rank after round 1? Most of the mids fired and a lot of the non-mids failed so im guessing you did well.

(And what are you doing with Broughton? :p)

Yea it was doing my head in choosing the mids. Wanted Murphy and Thompson as well as the ones I chose and I guess hindsight shows I would have been better with those 2 especially given my bye selections.

Ablett (c), Pendlebury, Watson, Selwood, Swan, Rockliff [Magner, Shiel]

Really haven't been entirely happy with how Voss has been utilising Rockliff the first 2 rounds although it paid off week 1. Black being out for a few weeks gives me a little cause for optimism about being in the middle a bit more and Brown is back also. Swan's efficiency has been poor and is probably the one I regret picking over say Murphy especially given the byes. So might downgrade him to Greene to move Magner in the starting 6.

Overall rank after Round 1 was 5906 I think (2219). Bad second round though of 2076 thanks to Mumford's late withdrawal has me back in the pack now at 28128.

Broughton I'm thinking of a possible trade to Malceski. Put a bit of cash in the bank and at least you know he isn't likely to be a tagger/stopper like Broughton is sometimes. Of course he is an injury concern but he does seem to be showing a similar pattern so far to those 2 seasons that he put it all together for the full season.

I hate trading out premiums especially one like Swan who has been so consistent for such a long time but Magner on the bench is a waste. What do you think of them IDIG?

Thoughts on martin? Maybe martin to goodes?

I'm gonna take a punt on Martin, I paid for him, and picked him up for a reason, he will get better. I'm going to fix up my rookies first, because even though i've had some questionable scores from my better players, it's my rookies scoring 50's and 27's (god damn you C.Smith), that are hurting me the most.

whats everyones thoughts on alex rance has had a couple of decent games averaging 117, averaged 85 or so last year do you think hell continue with this form? his price will increase... who would be a better player to get for broughton?

This may come back to bite me, but there's no way in hell he'll average that for the rest of the year. Even with that start I can't see him averaging over 100 come the end of the year unless he doesn't play another game for the year.

Suckling, Broughton, Shaw ??? Do i suck it up and see it out ? I see alot of people talking Dempsey and Rance and the like but over 22 games of footy can anyone really see those guys outscoring the above mentioned on a consistant basis ? I think i'll stick fat with the above mentioned rookies though i am absolutely clueless on what to do.

B:Morris, Ellis, Bugg, Clarke
M:Magner, Coniglio, Wingard, Shiel, C.Smith.
R: Giles, Redden
F: Milera, Smedts, Dickson, D.Smith

What do people think do i bring in a kennedy for Smedts/Dickson ?

Any other rookies i should bite the bullet on and either bring in or drop ?

Having some problems wondering if i should trade or not, advice would be great.
So,

I have Lee Spurr in the backline, not sure if he will get a game. so should i jump on morris from richmond?

and also i got sucked in to saad so should i swap him for milera?

spurr for morris
saad dor milera

Thoughts are appreciated. Cheers:D

Morris will play all year but will only average 60 at most!
Milera looks very consistant atm! 85 in a losing team and 84 in a winning team and is projected to go up by 84k next round!
I would def trade in milera but leave spurr on the bench!
Cheers

Instead of Morris, have you considered Bower, Mohr, Hombsch. If you don't have them, you can take their price rises until another rookie has debuted and had 2 games to downgrade to before their price rises. Docherty, Sam Shaw (Adel) Spurr, Darley (GWS) are all possible downgrade targets in the future. I'd get the cash cow in now.

Probably should get rid of Spurr, he is on the rookie list so wont see many games this year.

Morris has good JS but wont score heaps, Bugg probably your best bet if you havent got him yet.

If he doesnt score well against Melb, then he's my 1st casualty.
