Great win and reward for effort. Rope a dope for the first two quarters, credit the backline who absorbed attack after attack. Thought Hammer and Jonas were immense in the first half.

Then coach’s made structural changes with a smaller forward line stopped the Swans gaining position across our half backline and easily delivering the ball inside 50.

Enjoyed Polec game, did a lot of inside pressure acts and ran to the right spots, that goal at the end made sure our neighbours new Port were up.

Boak again proving the doubters wrong - the campaigner who sits behind me in bay 139 that means you. Dixon on to the ball, what a unit to unleash around the contest and Wal was amazing. Though it was a one off last week when he rucked against Sandilands on occasions but did everything he could today to ensure PA walked away with the four points.

Enjoyed the pressure and tackling the whole team bought to the game, really noticed Motlop hitting pack after pack to push the ball forward.

Time for another red.

The only downer is Rockliff is so far on the outer on game day it's not funny. Can't find the footy at all. If he's this bad next week it will be genuine cause for concern. May need a spell in the twos.

I was looking for Rockliff and he wasn't that prominent but a class player is a class player and we know he will turn it around. Tom has had an interrupted pre season and probably needed a couple of runs. Next week he plays against his old club so I think he will have a good one.

Fantastic win . I was definitely worried in the first half , but we stayed true and inch by inch got back into the game .... And then .... along came Boak ,Dixon in the ruck , Motlops class , Robbie Grays class , Wingards class to a lesser extent , Marshalls class ( what a prospect ) Wines was huge . Jonas, Byrne Jone , Hartlett , Houston , Polec S.Gray Westhoff , Ebert , Powel Peper all kept plugging away an working hard , this and Dougy playing a ripper on Buddy who was also Brilliant but not able to breakaway from the master spoiler .
Great game and massive for our belief , with Rocky yet hits his straps we're looking good .

Back six immense, over 4>
Boak, Dixon over four quarters, were huge.
On balers got pantsed in the first quarter, SPP & Rockliff looked lost, but proud of the way they got back into the game.

Polec played goal to goal.
Ollie> R Gray, S Gray, Hartlett.

Over the whole game, all did something, that was a team game.

Very Very Proud..

EDIT: Forgot the HOFF!

I worry he's too high profile a recruit to play in the reserves.

Seems like he's been told to just run around and get some fitness and we'll see you in round 6 to actually contribute.

Couldn't even tell you what his role currently is.

I can tell you the club don't really know what his role is either. We're both trying to work that out.

When they talked at the member conference about sides not being the best without having the best defence... that was on display today. Our defence was immense. And there were so many other stars across the ground today. That's the kind of game that sets a season up. at half time the port of the last few years would probably have fired a few shots, then fallen away in the third quarter. If we'd held tight, we would have been run over when the Swans closed within 4 points. But bugger me, we just kept bloody coming, like a boxer coming back to knock out the tired looking Swans.

The starting point is always not to have passengers. Having no passengers allows class to come to the top and that is exactly what happened today: we outclassed the opposition.

Some players did not have great games but they never shirked their responsibilities and they never hid. Well done Port Adelaide. There is still plenty of improvement to come.

It was very poor performance...

...we let down the commentary team greatly by winning this game. :p

LOL, seriously in the last quarter you could almost hear the relief in their voices when any of our inside 50s was rebounded.

We can and should carry Rockliff for at least another couple of weeks. That visionary handball got us one of our most important goals.

He wouldn't have played in a team that moves the ball that quickly ever. Will take some time to get into the groove.

Doog's long ass arms are my favourite Port Adelaide body part.

Ollie’s thighs are sad at this

As mentioned elsewhere Tom played a very low tog in round one, then 85 this game. They appear to be easing him into match fitness.

I loved how Buddy looked like tearing it away from us again then we completely shit him out for the next fifteen minutes.
Also full points to Doogs, to contain Lance like that shows he can play that role on anyone this year.

Come round 8 he will have eaten text by half time then shit him into eddies pocket 15 minutes into the third quarter.

Excuse the silly football comparison but Charlie Dixon is like Bobby Firmino. Sure, he scores goals, but he's so much more than that. The work rate is phenomenal, the game intelligence is up there with the best, they both can adapt and contribute in different ways. I was in awe of Firmino yesterday tracking back and tackling at left back in the 93rd minute of the match vs Crystal Palace, and I'm so impressed with Charlie's effort today. Massive contribution even without kicking any goals.
