I just can't see Pav not playing, despite what a few on here are saying.

Essentially, as per the injury report on Wednesday(?), they said he had to pass the concussion test (tick) and train strongly Thursday (supposedly tick) and then he'd be right to play. He also got through training fine Tuesday. There aren't any more hoops to jump through as far as I'm aware, he doesn't have to resit the test he's passed? I understand it could all be a bit of smoke and mirrors from the club but honestly I doubt it here.

I know he has copped knocks a couple of weeks in a row now, but I'd be very, very surprised to see him miss. The 8 day break or whatever it is probably helps a fair bit, too.

He has played half a game in 3 weeks. He will play tomorrow.

Duffy however is a hard player for me to pin down. He seems to have this knack for being invisible.

I admit I haven't seen him play very much, but In the games I've seen, he seems to be pretty good at losing his man, finding space, pouncing on the ball from out of nowhere and jagging a goal somehow given barely half a chance... which might make him quite damaging in a forward pocket. He doesn't strike me as being particularly fast or classy with the ball, but he somehow finds it up forward and kicks goals fairly regularly.

He doesn't strike me as having x-factor... It's more like a '...hey, WTF - where did that come from??' factor.

Duffy won't set the world alight on saturday, but he may surprise many. I have a hunch we still might see a few more experiments happening up forward.

Anyone who's better informed on Duffy care to comment? Is that how he plays, or do I have a warped perspective from only seeing him play a few times?
He can turn invisible, warp space and set whole worlds alight. This is not a footballer, more some kind of super-hero!
I eagerly await his debut!

Hey - No fair!

...Don't make fun of my vocabulary, I'm still trying to live down that bloody 'gestalt' remark from last time:p:p

Its a shame Ibbo will miss this game but I'm glad that Duffy is getting a game after all the effort he has put in over the last month of coming back from the shoulder injury.

I'm not expecting much from Duffy. Just show us he's the new Fyfe, kick a couple of goals (per quarter), 30+ possessions, cure cancer. That kind of thing.
He'll be better than that. He'll make his idol stevie j look like a plodder.

I love your vocabulary. you have a very free way with adjectives which makes for interest. I was having fun highlighting your hyperbole :)

Aww shucks E-Shed, I'm going all gooey over here... some nice alliteration on your part too. :thumbsu:

(Seriously - thank you. I write for a living and as a hobby; flattery like that will get you everywhere).

Crozier is supposed to be the new Fyfe. Maybe we can see that on Saturday ;)
Croz strikes me as more of a stephen hill than a fyfe. I'd be pretty happy with that as an outcome ;-)

Though I'd be happy enough if croz just plays a solid game and contributes throughout really.

I remember Croz comparing himself to Fyfe as a player he models his game on just before he was drafted. Also that speccy. But yeah there is only one Nathan Fyfe, just like there is only one Kepler Bradley.

That fisher guy isn't umpiring again is he?

Because Ross Lyon delisting him at the saints isn't going to make him unbiased when umpiring games involving Ross lol

Edit:

We have Stevic, Armstrong and Pannell. I don't know any of them other than Stevic

Well the month of football that will probably define our season is about to start.

After the last couple of weeks I'm not confident, but hopeful, a win tomorrow night is what we need.
