Finally, Dale. Really regretting not pulling the trigger on Guthrie - off to a huge start, and since I don't have Danger, could've been a good week to make up some ground. Oh well, will probably have six sub-50s tomorrow anyway

Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster. I’ve long been mystified by the SC scoring system, in theory I know how certain acts are scored, but every week I am left mystified as to how a player got a certain score. Could someone please enlighten me as to how Cripps got 88 and Bont got the same (pre scaling). Just a comparison, Cripps had a better DE, 11 more disposals (9 more contested), 1 more mark, an additional behind, 2 additional clearances, +1 Free kick for, more inside 50s, rebound 50s etc. The only positive differentials for Bont is +1 tackles and -4 clangers. Surely 4 clangers and a tackle doesn’t outweigh everything listed above. As an owner of Bont vs an opponent who has Cripps I’m not complaining, I’m just wondering if there’s more to this I’m missing or the scores genuinely just make it up as the go.

Disgusting 51 point second half from Jack Macrae. Pathetic after such a great start.

Also how’s Dangerflog? 165 last week to 50 this week. Just a consistent 100 each week would be just fine.

The total points in any game are 3,300.
So if there's a game that's a possession fest, the value of an individual kick will be less than in a game with a lower possession count..
There's also a shifting anchor (based around the time when the game was decided as a contest), so if a bloke got a heap of touches late in a dead contest, they might not be worth as much.
There's also a lot of scoring acts categories etc.
That sort of stuff.

Knockons, 1-percenters, spoils, handball v kick points awarded, closeness of the game when player is collecting points (ie impact on the end result), total number of possessions in the game (more possessions overall means scaling down of each) - just off the top of my head.

Some on here swear that it's all rigged and arbitrary and KOTD, but I wonder why they play the game if they think so.

Clearances, inside 50 and rebound 50 all worth 0 SC points.

Most of Cripps possession differences were 5m handballs.

+1 tackles and -4 clangers is 20 points.

Dangerflog is the new Dusty .....I've already stated Danger won't be in my side next year .....irrespective of the odd big score

Thanks, had no clue about the shifting anchor, although it doesn’t really impact that last game seeing as the Dogs were belting the Crows.
