Round 21 (finals week 1) trades

Nice team. I'd be upgrading your F7 position. I'd be upgrading Prestia to maybe Pav or Fyfe. Definitely keep Mzungu for cover.

Or if you can spare two trades I'd be downgrading Hibberd to someone (Taylor from GC?) and upgrading someone like Bewick, Cam Rich or Lynch to Pav/Fyfe. That way you can get rid of some bench cloggers.

Thanks mate. What do you think about trading out Heppell (who I will have to trade out at some stage, might as well be now) and Prestia for Fisher and SJ this week? I realise I am taking a risk in bringing in SJ before his bye, as I might lose my first game, but I have decent bench cover in Mzungu for that week. I feel the upside of the trade is pretty huge, compared to bringing in Fyfe/Pav who have tough draws and don't have SJ's points scoring ability. Thoughts?

4 trades left and will be using two trades to bring in goodes this week, he can float between forward and centre for cover in the final few rounds. will be holding two trades for rnd 24 to straight swap any cats or pie premiums who are rested.

yeah true. going to have 2 up my sleeve for the last rounds regardless. cant upgrade my team any more than it is and pretty happy with it. wont be surprised if i finished with 1 left over.

Would love some advice guys. This is my team right now (4 trades, 162k)

Gibbs, Deledio, Goddard, Enright, Heppell, Broughton, Stanley (Otten, Hibberd, Howard)

Boyd, Swan, Pendles, Mitchell, Ablett, S Thompson (Prestia, Bewick, Jacobs)

Cox, Mumford (Keefe, Tippett)

Goodes, Cloke, Buddy, Sylvia, Petrie, Riewoldt, Mzungu (I Smith, Lynch, C Richardson)

Not sure where to go from here. I could try to upgrade my iffy players (eg upgrade Prestia leaving Mzungu/I Smith as bench cover in midfield and forward line), or I could leave my trades purely for trading out players who have byes, eg Petrie, Gibbs, Heppell.

Any help appreciated!

i wouldnt trade prestia as none of your midfield players have a bye and if one of them were to get injured/rested prestia would be a fine backup (although you could trade him on friday, look at the teams first)

right now your defense needs work, as 3 of them all have a bye coming up.
my advice to you would be to trade heppell for suckling which leaves you with 152k, and then trade otten for fisher which leaves you with around 85k.

if you do that, your defense should look like this:

Gibbs, Deledio, Goddard, Enright, Suckling, Fisher, Broughton (Stanley, Hibberd, Howard)

that way when the kangaroos have the bye, you dont need to bench anyone
when geelong has the bye, bench enright and bring in stanley.
when carlton has the bye, bench gibbs and bring in stanley.
when essendon has the bye you dont need to bench anyone.

meanwhile your midfield doesn't have the bye at all so you're fine there
your rucks dont have the bye
your forwards have one bye only (this week petrie, which is covered by smith)
only do this if your team is all in

if it isnt and you have to use a trade because somebody is out, then id just trade heppell for suckling and use the other trade wherever needed

oh and if you want to get rid of bench cloggers, next week is just fine for that, as if you do this you're covered in all areas and you can get rid of hibberd to a rookie = like 300k if you add your 85k you got now after doing this, then you can just upgrade someone like riewoldt/sylvia/mzungu/smith to fyfe or pavlich
OR even better, you can not get rid of any of your bench cloggers and use that 85k to upgrade riewoldt and sylvia to fyfe and pavlich.

ramble ended*

need help boys 4 trades 68k in bank

gibbs goddard lids heppell adcock broughton toy duigan batchelor hibberd

mitchell ablett pendles swan redden mzungi prestia wallis jacobs

petrie cox tippett

fyfe pav j roo n roo buddy Goodes rok smith lobbe

thinking hibberd downgrade to rookie and duigan to birchall this week thoughts please

if you're going to trade duigan, trade him for suckling. a much better choice than birchall, and only 9k more

Is there anyone else out there that does not trust Zac Smith?

Considering this is one of the most important finals week that dream teamer's have ever faced... it is at the most utter importance to find an appropriate ruckman to stand strong with the great season Cox has had.

For myself i have cox in the ruck and smith and lobbe, but considering it is final's week i find this spot quite weak. Who is the next in line, and im not looking at Sandilands (his price is almost as big as his bloody sore toe).

I have Nick Maxwell in one of my leagues and the other day i noticed that he got in Jolly to replace petrie for week 1 of the finals. Now i thought to myself, that might not be a bad option... if anyone would know it would be the captain and Jolly is reasonably cheapp??? so that could be a maybe.. or is there someone else better?

your thoughts would be appreciated..

if leuenburger/mumford is too much for you too, then id suggest going with either jolly or naitanui, jolly imo

I have 3 trades and 480k left...need to get a ruck man + a back

I Have dids, dswallow, Ismith and mzungu sharing the load of 6th mid + 7th forward. ( I do have a cpl of journeymen in Howe, callinan, Harris and lobbe floating around also)

Mids: swan, pendles, Boyd, Mitchell, abblett, dids (swallow, smith, Harris)

Fwd: Fyfe, go odes, Cloke, franklin, nroo, Mzungu ( lobbe, callinan, Howe)

I was thinking of bringing in either Johnson, hodge or Selwood for one of the above. Stevie j and Selwood will belt the crows this week but hodge has the suns if I make it to the granny

I feel as though swallow is batting above his avg at his price and might prove the easiest to upgrade

How do you see did's run to the finals, should have a fair run in the guts for fitness.

Ur thoughts?

who are your backmen?

trade Sandilands for Goldstein (12k cheaper and a better average), then trade one of your forwards and get Stevie J

thanks mate but with both having the bye for the next two rounds i wont be bringing them in...
Johnson is worth considering for the last two rounds but with geelong playing the pies round 24 and i will most likely need the trades later on to cover the heaps general soreness/resting that is about to happen for at least the last 2-3 rounds

Was going to trade Pederson for sucking/ broughton
if you're going to do that trade for suckling
and i forgot to ask who your ruckmen are

yep totally forgot about the bye, disregard what i said.
you dont have enough money to trade puopolo for suckling, so if you wanna do that you should downgrade otten oor howard to a rookie then trade hibberd for suckling

Plan to get cox for smith/lobbe...may even take a risk this week and eat a 0 this week if smith and cox are out

Maxwell has had Jolly for a while now. Traded him in for Sandi in Rd15. He had Petrie as a permanent forward with no DP Ruck/Fwd link. Looks to have added JTippett recently though. Must have been in Rd18 when Jolly didn't play.

If you don't already have Stevie J I would avoid him at all costs. Very, very pricey, has the bye in round 23 and Collingwood in 24 where he traditionally doesn't score well. I would go for premiums that have something to play for.

Pavlich is probably the pic of the bunch. He will need to perform if freo are to make it and will not be rested. Fyfe and Goodes are others that come to mind. Rioli would be a nice pick-up if, and only if, he gets selected for the GC game. Could easily score in the 150 range.

As for mids if you don't have Swan you are an absolute fool for letting him go. He will not be rested. Avoid Thomas as I believe he is still labouring from an injury. Selwood would be a nice pick-up but only if you have enough cover for the bye.. Traditionally does well against Collingwood and they do not tag so could end up with 40+ again.

Backs are the hardest of the bunch. Broughton probably the pick of them. Deledio, Goddard and Gram also have been racking them up lately. Gram is the cheapest but least reliable. Stay away from Adcock... With Patfull and Merrett out he may be required to play more of a shutdown role instead of the rebound defender he naturally is. In saying that, he played on Walker for a bit last week and still managed a decent score. Was on 77 at half time and only managed 98 i think..

Awfully quiet... people keeping things under their hats with finals starting? :D

Got 3 trades left. Not sure whether to "bolster" my side now or wait until prelim week (have Gibbs and Murphy).

Thinking of either doing a double trade by going 2 of Puopolo/Pederson/Jacobs/Buckley to either Fisher, Birchall (although his scoring lately is a worry) or perhaps an ultra unique in Nathan Bock...

Or doing a single trade and ditching Petrie for Luenberger. Petrie is really my 2nd ruck premium whom I can swing forward if needed. But he's missing this week and if I can avoid week 2 of finals, I'm basically only getting 2 games out of him. If I don't get the 'burger, then I play Hale (who's been surprisingly solid of late, and Hawks do play Port this week).

Thoughts?

Thought I'd raise mine again to see if there is any advice.

Current side:

B: Gibbs, Goddard, Deledio, Enright, Heppell, Adcock, Lower (Puopolo/Pedersen/Jacobs)
M: Murphy, Pendles, Swan, Boyd, Mitchell, Ablett (Buckley/Mzungu/Evans)
R: Cox, Petrie (Lobbe / J.Tippett)
F: Fyfe, Goodes, Pavlich, Chapman, Franklin, Sylvia, N.Riewoldt (Hale, T.Lynch, Richardson)

Only 3 trades left due to early trade wasting. Backline definitely needs work with 3 players having byes (hoping to avoid finals in week 2). Have bugger all cash as I blew it on getting Ablett right before his injury.

Considered options:

1) as my previous post, double trade to get an extra defender... really liking Bock as a unique, but could play it safe with Fisher.
2) side trade Gibbs/Heppell as required.

Alternatively...
Could trade Petrie for Luenberger now... not sure if worth it... feels like a waste and Petrie could have a good finish to the year. Hale has been pretty adequate for 70/80ish since returning to the Hawks side, and has Port this week.

Don't really see many other options. Hoping Sylvia is back, but otherwise can cover him with Mzungu.

Will probably keep 1 trade to move Murphy to Selwood for the prelim. Keep Gibbs.

Any advice?

This week is a disaster for rucks. Im proper unhappy

* Every team pretty much has Goldie or the Dish, bye
* Zac Smith to be rested as Bluey has said. Ouch
* Cox need to get through a fitness test for a hip promblem. General Soreness anyone???

Im sitting with Goldie, Z Smith, Keeke & Vardy.

Plan was to turn Vardy into Cox. Playing Cox and Zac, Zac to be dumped next week to turn Lower into Broughton. Cnuts!!!

On a brighter note my opponent has Cox, Dish, Zac and Vardy.

Zac Smith replacement - l'berger or Mumford?

Same price & avg
Both have good match ups week 1 of finals

Interested in opinions as to which is likely to score more in the final 4 games.

Can't decide.....

although ill always love my mummyford :(

Petrie to Pav, to avoid having to potentially play Lobbe again. Leaves me with 1 trade left, not sure what I'll do with it yet...

I've had Leuey all year and he has not let me down once. Hope that helps. I must be one of few then who aint affected by my rucks this week.... that Cox/Leuey combination has really paid off this season :).
