When they’re handballing hospital hand passes less than a metre away to someone in a worse position and in a panic, those “old farts” would be totally correct!
Deadset our handballing has to be league worst.

It will be a head * for the Lyon haters too. Imagine if we finish with one more win than 2022 but still miss out on finals.

It's the evenness of the comp that gets people, just because instead of it being 1-2 up and about like us with Geelong for example, you have 4-5 maybes with the should be Pies doing their best to shit the bed at present. Meanwhile, the shit kids who had done SFA for two seasons basically should have beaten Essendon last week, Dockers also almost beat Brisbane so suddenly not as clear form lines right? Must be weaker comp instead of literally anything else....

I think we beat the Tigers and Cats TBH, get pumped by Brissie kinda similar to the Blues game where they just launch and we go "oh well".

If we end up doing just that and sticking with Brissie for the most part, that's the duality of coaching and players on same page heading to same location and minute limitation things. Say we do that and Brissie straight pants us instead, that's another list in a long list of variable team in a slight struggle chance to enshrine a gap between X and Y and got bent over instead for the players just not wanting it, because coaching certainly would in the last round when finals is to play for.

Others, would blame RL and co for not giving them hugs, whispering into their ears about how special they are, tapping their arse on the way through about how great a job they will do and did at training previously... as we struggle to make those same finals.

You'll be happy clapping the failure no doubt!

Looking like Marshall as the only ruck against Nankervis and Soldo with Owens doing the back up.

Brilliant plan with our midfield.

Are we sure its Lyon coaching not Grant Thomas?

I honestly don't care either way. I think we are at the start not the end. I'd like to make finals for sure but the measure of the success of the Lyon tenure is going to be further down the road. We've been waiting for players to get fit and have everyone playing well at once to make finals for years. I think we needed to do something and we did something.

It might be a pile of turd but at least it will be a pile of turd made by professional football people instead of a few random people we employed because they were good at something irrelevant. We were so far away from even finding a path let alone following one before.

Hmm... bit of cat and mouse. I would say Cordy has to be in just in case they go tall up forward. Higgins and Butler in the extended squad but surely neither gets dropped?

Guessing it will be Cordy, Higgins, Butler, Byrnes, Billings to sub.

I was feeling confident about this one but with their ins, honestly they look a mile better than us on paper.

Totally, nothing against the kids I think I got a bit confused by the point George was making. I understand now he's saying the list is stronger now but if we're taking into account what their output was last year due to injury then I'd say we should take into account this year's injuries too. But yeah loving what Pou and Hammer have done this year and expect them to come back huge next year.

I'm really excited to see what they bring, having had a huge dive into the deep-end, and learning to swim in 2023. Hopefully be the makings of two special players.

Hannas was the Rising Star winner in his first year, wasn't he? Tough comparison.

Absolutely a tough comparison ... but the Pou holds up pretty well, all things considered - he's had some nice moments without managing to absolutely destroy a game.

I saw that Samson Ryan made the 22 under 22 and spat out my coffee. He does look good, but on this year / career to date alone, he’d have to have 20 in front? Wonder how he compares to Hammer?
Taller and heavier ... more hitouts ... pretty-much sums it up:

The forward line looks better with Membrey named on field but whether it looks better in reality remains to be seen. likewise with Ross in the midfield.

I thought we might have seen Hayes or even Campbell get a call up to give Marshall some more support in the ruck but neither are even in the squad.

I don't like the idea of Owens going up against the likes of Nankervis and Soldo in the ruck and god help us if Marshall gets injured, we'll be screwed.
