Is playing on Cody weightman that much of a breakout performance for DGB? Morris would have likely done the same job for limited fanfare.

We need DGB to make it - and a I really hope he does as we’re short of elite talent - but seems a lot hanging onto any positive signs.
Still agree it was his best game of the year (in a year he’s struggled).

Think we all hope he has a big preseason as he has an important 12-24 months ahead.
they took him out of every contest they could, elbows, shoves etc.
There is where Sicily is probably undersized. Lake wouldn’t have been bullied out of the contest. Possibly a role for Jeka in a few years - he can likely hold 100kgs with his frame and will be hard to knock off his line.

Newcombe is more a receive and burst player, not a pure clearance winner. He also brings a hell of a lot of defensive pressure. C-Mac as a clearance mid would be great. I have a feeling Moore may also win a few more next year
It is way too early to make a call on what any of these players will become. What we do know that they are all good by foot and good decision-makers.
Shout out to Crazy Eyes. Probably his last games for us.

Always gives 110% even though his decision making can sometimes be infuriating.
I have always liked Howe. He is a true utility - very versatile, reads the came well, good overhead and doesn't flinch a contest. His big weaknesses have always been slow leg speed and slow decision-making.

Seeing both Howe and Long at work, I was struck by their similarities. Howe reads the game better and gets more ball. Long is quicker to sum up the situation with ball in hand. Right now, I am pretty confident that Long will reach and surpass Howe's standard. While I would be OK with Howe staying on, if he can get a better gig, he should go for it.

About 25 "trade Mitchell", "what would we get for Wingard?" posts have just been summarily deleted by me.

I could have taken more time, and moved each one individually to the appropriate thread, but...well...**** you!

Two questions from at the match and having seen no footage

I kept seeing Sicily lying on the ground while Bulldogs talls were marking in front of him.
My guess was that there was some heavy blocking going on, can anyone clarify for me

Naughton got a free kick in the second quarter, from a long way away it looked like a candidate for the Hawkins shooting star treatment
Would like to see the footage
After half time they just had one person sit on him or shove him out of the way and never got pinged.

If there’s anything I love about the off-season it’s the moderators with short tempers and itchy trigger fingers! Always cures the malaise.
"Poking the bear" is about the funnest thing to do in the off season when TheFourPillars and co aren't giving us training reports!

Dermie had a lot of good things to say about Conor Nash. The guy has had a great season.

Which thread should we start a "trade TOM" discussion? And to keep them on their toes what other thread should we start a "what do we get for Wingard" discussion?
I'd be recommending TOM in the DGB thread and Wingard in Reeves.....or maybe one of them in the this doesn't warrant a thread question ;)

Revive one of them in the 'Roughy, where is he at?' thread for a bit of nostalgia.
