Disappointing season. Thought we would get pumped but played it out.
Just not good enough, sloppy and indecisive in front of goal.
Lienert
Sincs
Long
Hanners good
Max 5 straight a fifty goal season going @50%. Kid will be a champ.
We need some support for Howard, needs to go to CHB and we need a lockdown back.
Hill can go Butler can go, Billings can go.
Would like
DeGoey as a FA
McKenzie in the draft
DMAC, Hayes back
Owens and Windy improving.

Nothing else much to say.
Nas?
Hope he stays.

Sincs was Sincs tonight…just bloody good.
Steele getting back to his best, such a shame about his long injury.
Clark showed his class with some of his kicking.

Game of the season for Longy I thought. He should not be going anywhere.

*Wouldn’t mind hanging onto Campbell for another year. Did some good things.

And Browny goes "well spoken there by Dan"
Lol
They speak the same language

Not sure how Browny gets a go on the telly, struggles to string 2 words together

Listening to his retirement media, it sounded like the club forced him to retire, rather than it was his sole decision.

I would have delisted him and told him if he can get through a pre season, then give him a rookie spot for 2023. No loss if he didnt get through. Plus we could recruit against his position if needed.
17 games in four years. His body is not getting any better.
So, no.

In a year when there were about 12 good teams for us to finish 10th is about right. If things had gone our way, no key injuries, fixture, close results etc. we might have finished 7-8th. But we were never a serious contender despite being 8-3 at the bye.

Ask yourself at what stage did we play Top 4 standard footy like Geelong, Melbourne and the Swans. My answer is never.

I would liked us to have made it but we were never good enough to go all the way and that's all I'm really interested in. So I don't really see it as a wasted year, just another mediocre Saints one. I've seen plenty of 'em.

Only thing that pissed me off is the Bulldogs making it. No way have they deserved to play finals this year. I reckon we've had a better year and that's saying something. Hope they get found out next week.

I'm on the Dees to go back to back. Can't stand Geelong so will even barrack for the Pies next week!

Saw a fair bit and he was ok. Would rather him than Hill.
Let's see what happens.

I'd rather Kent than Hill. He's a very good player but he's hard to watch at the Saints. We can't use his strengths and highlight his weaknesses. He's just the wrong fit.

TuRn iT uP
Fox Footy are really struggling aren't they. They just rotate the same dozen people through the dozen or so of their shows. Got basketballers talking football, truly bizarre. Saturated the shit out of the game, lol.

Hanners was literally in our best in just about every game he played for us. Including our only finals win in the last decade. Sure it didn't work out as we hoped but you can't say he didn't give it everything. Respect.

If Long plays like that every week we'd be saying 'Shai who?' This was a quintessential Ben Long game, two massive screamers, a free kick that he's somehow reported for (He 100% has a target on his head from umpires IMO) and just about best on. Do it more often and we have a game winner.

Maxy's had a year where he's been absolutely dragged over coals by media and our supporters (definitely understandable at times yes....) yet he still kicks 50 and has at least another 60-70 shots at goal (probs got 20 out on the full).

Paddy will go down as one of my most favourite Saints ever. In just 38 games. Can't believe he only got the one finals win in his career. Has left a great imprint on the side IMO. Hope he stays in touch with the club post footy.

Can't believe another years gone. They go so quickly....

Until next time folks.

I dunno, apparently allison kicked a goal from outside 50 in the VFL today... clearly a smarter list choice than giving the best leader/mid we have another year smh

Bounce is the first show that runs after a round of footy and 20 minutes of it is spent reacting to youtube videos.

The round of football and the week of stories that just went down and I'm watching Andrew Gaze overreact to videos some intern pulled for him an hour ago.

Great game by Long but that huge contested mark followed up by a 40m backwards kick summed up our night and season

It was a good idea but I think it was Paton was too shit to take it and turned it over.

LOL yeah you are right

I like 360 and Couch, only two I watch, but can see completely how saturated it is. 360 doesn't need to run for an hour every night, a show on Monday recapping the round gone and another on Thursday previewing the week ahead should suffice. I think they've realised that too because 360 Plus is more focused on previewing all the games as opposed to gossiping about the stories.

It's easy to get sucked into it all and probably has made me enjoy the game less. Would like to just watch the games on weekends and ignore everything else and see if that brings back the enjoyment for me. Back when I was younger there was none of it, just the game on the weekend and the sports report on the news at 6. I can see how the AFL media landscape is partially to blame for people not enjoying it anymore, along with a number of other reasons (umpiring being another main one).
