Jack Steele with the rare quadruple double

And 2 goals to top it off

Did it against Heeney to great effect as well a few weeks back.
Will be devastated if he is delisted.

I think it's been mentioned in the media somewhere that he has a contract. I think he's reasonably well rated by Ross (he's mentioned him favourably in a few pressers this year) Hope so anyway. He's been a pretty good pick up

Turn a few of those close losses into wins before the bye and suddenly we are doing a Hawthorn flying into the finals. That's the frustrating part of the past 2 months.

I am not asking to trade Max, but man I hope he is watching and analysing every single game since he's been out. We are currently a much better side without him and that's up to him to change.

Watching Dunstall and Joey chat after the game, I'd suggest Battle is likely gone. Dunstall was pretty smug and Joey had a weird smirk.

I love winning, but at half time we had pick 4 and probably 5 in our pocket. Then Rankine sees stars and we decide to play. Means we currently have pick 6 (and 7) which isn't a horrible spot but we can probably kiss goodbye to the ideal mids we need like FOS, Jagga or Draper now.

Garcia as a sub was a bit disappointing, kid deserved a full game I thought. He was working a lot with Ro in the centre at training so it did come as a surprise that he didn't start and start in the middle. Great to watch him hit Higgins then run down Holmes, redo the draft and he's a first rounder no question.

I'll go across the lines and see where I end up.

Wilkie and Doogs were great in the air, if Josh does go - Doogs is almost our most important re-signing I think.

Ro and Steele in particular were unbelievable today. Special mention to Dow, he got 14 touches @ 50%, bog average numbers but his midfield game is super important to our setup - was much better than his stats suggest. I also really liked Clark's ability to find space and Stockers toughness in the rotation too.

Membrey and Wilson were awesome tonight up forward. Tim seems to have found his sticky hands again, Wilson not just has a great engine he also has a lot of ticker. I just love Hammer, Owens and Coopers ability to halve a contest - that work ethic is a big reason why our forwardline is functio ing so well.

It's great to get a quality win against a team we all hate. Hopefully it doesn't bite us too much in what promises to be our most important offseason in years (before Tassie wrecks the draft).

Now onto next week, I feel sick that depending on results, we may have no option than to let either the Filth or the Scum into the finals. Talk about a horrible position to be put in.

He also combines well with Windhager, they can easily switch positions within a game if we need to change things up

How wrong was I. I suggested Darcy Wilson to be sub to give him a rest. Then the kid goes on and plays a blinder BOG game.

I was also not concerned with winning, but when we hit the lead I was jumping off the couch with excitement.

What a great win Sainters!
Yeah same here, was after 4 and 5 but if we have the likes of Pou, Wilson, NAZ, Owens, Windy, Garcia plus two top ten mids, we have a good mix of mids going forward.
Add to that Hammer, Sharman, Arie, Liam Henry and some we haven't even seen Van Es and Keeler and we will have some kids to work with.

Looks like pick 6 and 7 now. Oh well.

Absolutely great win.
Plenty to digest.
Hill injury sours it a bit.

Chris Scott is such a ****ing sore loser.
"Marvel Specialists". Guess what numbnuts. It's called "Home Ground Advantage". Bit like what you get at that shit heap out the back of bum**** nowhere.

A win for the ages, a great comeback and in true Saints style we had to fight against the odds with the umpires screwing us.

We may have lost pick 5 but a win like that is worth more than a pick especially knocking the smug Cats back down to size.

Wilson the standout from our youngsters but they all stood up along with a few of our oldsters like Marshall, Wilkie and Steele.

A shame we couldn't produce that performance earlier in the season when it counted but the signs are promising for next year.

What did Ross do at HT?

He gave them a Uber Eats spray at half time and we delivered.

He is on a minimum wage and a very useful player - and on a list of 40 squad players his position is safe.
If he was to go it will be some team has offered him a better deal.

Have never understood why the media pundits love talking up Tom Stewart. The dude is garbage, thanks for the win ahole

He's good but he's a classic Geelong campaigner. Always whinging at the umpires, always giving dirty little hits behind play, always playing for frees, always smirking when he gets away with something. Same lineage as Scarlett or Hawkins or Chapman or Selwood.

What the actual frock

You know, aussie rules goals.... kicking the ball between the big sticks and getting 6 points, as apposed to AFL goals where kicking the ball between the big sticks sometimes gets a point. How many real goals did Wilson get in the end?

I'm just being a dick about that bullshit call.

Start of q3, exactly what I noticed, really like him in there, his positioning and physicality, he's not quick but boy he's got some traits!
Great move by Lyon. First half our mids were out of position in almost every centre bounce. Stanley would tap it to space and the Cats mids just ran on to it and attacked through the 6,6,6.
Second half, Stocker shut down the easy exit and stopped the Cats. This is where we started to get our game moving, confidence came back, and we were off to the races.
But Lyon can't coach apparently.
