No doubt there will be physical attack and provocation. Main thing is that the boys don't retaliate too hard. He who retaliates gets reported.

I hate North (not sure why and yet there are so many reasons)

Me too. They are my Carlton this season.

I left Round 1 thinking that Carlton just weren't up to the job of being villains this year. It was like watching Hitler as a cute toddler. They just don't have any menace, and well, there's no point in having a hero if you don't also have a villain.

So North it is. Waite is a stager and a flog. Thomas likes to lay on the ground and wait for an umpire to hand him the footy. Brad Scott complained because it rained in Melbourne during winter. The club took no action to stand down Daw for the season, who is charged with raping a 15 year old girl. Plenty to hate there, before we even get to their recent winning record against Richmond.

(I actually enjoy their footy and will get back to having a mild liking of them, once Waite is gone and Carlton are back to being worthy of hatred.)

Dogs had the ruck wrestle with Goldstein, while a third man came over the top. They rotated a number of different players as third man up so that Norf didn't know who to block. Worked well for them, too.

Yep they used The bont to do that, but I was mainly talking about the centre square effort, and clearances from there is the key to winning, so we have to quell that as best we can.

I believe he isn't contracted for 2016. The feeling seems to be that he'll leave to have a crack somewhere else. He'd be close to B&F for the VFL team. I'd love for him to stay, but can't say I'd blame him for leaving.

Agreed. I'd love him to stay too.

But, he'll be 24 in October. 10 senior games in the last three years - none this year. It's understandable, but unfortunate, if he seeks opportunities elsewhere.

They're requesting to rest 8-10 players.
Win well but ease up when it's over as a contest, no injuries.
Sets it up to send them packing on our rightful home ground the next week with no excuses, what more could we ask for as a breakthrough moment for the playing group?

I've heard that he's considering retiring from football to join the police force.

North have blown out to $8.50 for a win.

Adelaide board erupts at the prospect of losing a home final.

The domino effect is that we may rest players. Adelaide may rest players, etc.

might not be a popular opinion, but i'd be resting Maric this week. let him freshen up after a tough hitout in the pouring rain last week. his body needs to be managed and we need him to be firing in the finals.

although to be honest Hampson might be a sneaky chance to play in the final as well against Goldy (with Maric, not in place of)

May as well try for some real football discussion then......

Playing Maric and Ivan would be interesting. People claim that Goldy was held last week by Roughead, but he still had 15 possessions and 59 hitouts (20 to advantage). Our mids getting pansted made it look like Goldy was worse than he was.

Playing Maric and Hampson against Goldy after a week off would probably be your best bet i would think. The you can rest one forward and ensure we have to play with Hansen down back.

The only downside to that being that Hampson is an absolute shit-truck forward, and Ivan isnt much better

I have no problem with North choosing to rest their players but concerns me that Brad Scott is a thug at heart and it wouldn't surprise me if the Norf nuff nuffs that he brings in are directed to push the limits in attacking our best players to hurt and try to get some retaliation.

Carlton is ALWAYS worthy of complete hatred.

I take great delight in the fact that they have descended into an abyss of shame and misery and I hope they fall even further.

Gees it would be a back look for the AFL if North make 10 replacements and then half of them end up in front of the tribunal for general thuggery.

Believe it when I see it. All season it's been this:

Brad Scott: We'll make wholesale changes this week, if you don't put in you don't play
*2 changes*

This week:

Brad Scott: We're looking to rest up to 10 players this week
*2 changes*

Of course. But IMO our boys will be instructed not to fall for that trick. And if Norf start dishing it out, they might find that two can play that game.
