Lions never had a chance for top 8 and will be lucky to stay out of the bottom 2 no matter what these posters think.

Merrett's only worth is as a forward and despite all our deficiencies up forward, Leppa stubbornly refuses to move him, or Lisle for that matter, forward.

And you don't reckon Leppa is out of ideas. Tell me what he is done at any stage to change things up? I'll tell you what; nothing. Sat on his hands all game.

And if he does, I'd argue no better than Maguire.

They still have Jack Martin and Harley Bennell to come in to this team. The AFL have overcooked these expansions sides about 150 percent more than necessary.

The next few years are going to be shit in terms of teams earning their flags.

I believe Hawthorn and Geelong at round 1/2 is considered a tough 'draw'.

But in the end, everybody plays everybody - there is no tough draw for just having play other teams.

Swapping Merrett for Goose as some sort of desperate measure is just deck chairs on the Titanic stuff. Wouldn't have made stuff all difference today.

I strongly believe Hanley and Rich should play in the midfield, rotating up forward. They are both being wasted in defence.

Well duh, but obviously there is a balance and senior proven players earn a bit more time to find said form.

Merrett has been a very good player for a long time. You'd think otherwise based on some of the remarks around here.

He's getting a holiday anyway so maybe Dylan will get his wish and he can find a new bugbear to hyper focus on for round 4. Goose hasn't played defence in the reserves this year though.
