Yes the high ball hasnt worked but if you were at the ground. You would have seen that the kicker had no options there were no leads forth coming. Its easy to follow the ball on the tv and complain but you could see that Geelong experienced defenders had our forwards covered they were inevitably caught behind or had no space to lead. Lewis had a real poor first half non competitive and kosi played like a guy who was star struck by the game and crowd. Cant blame kosi but lewis should have done better. He was much better in the second half at least providing a contestFor 13 years the high ball to Nooneinpaeticular hasn't worked against Geelong and yet Clarkson still either, a) thinks it's a winning strategy, or b) can't figure out Geelong's defensive unit weakness/es.
It's worry that when every other winning team is winning through having their forwards leading up to the ball, while our are instructed to park themselves 15m out from the goal and told to wait for the ball to come to them.
We matched it or beat Geelong everywhere except in F50 efficiency and that's why we lost.
that wouldn't be unexpected though
Funnily enough he's been dropped 16 times in his career so yeah, you might want to look elsewhere for cluelessness. He may or may not be dropped, but calling those who think he will clueless when you seem to be lacking in the clue department yourself, is a bit slow in the old decision making... wait where have I seen that before?Howe ain't getting dropped. Some of you are clueless as always.
Yep bizarre.I just think it's unfair that a team who finished 15th has to play the previous season's Grand Finalists in the first 3 rounds.
Sick of losing to these evil fu**s by a kick almost every. single. *******. time.
Will it EVER be our turn?
There should be a stat that tells you how many frees weren't paid, that's the real issue where this game is concerned. Blicavs threw it all day, the shock on his face when it was called was a pleasure to behold. There should be a stat that tells u frees in fwd 50 vs frees in back 50...

Classic case of needing 2 of the same player (can be said of many players across the comp to be fair).Geez CJ is going to be a player. Would love him fwd 50
Yep bizarre.
Killed us , should have been level pegging at halftime .That 2nd quarter in the end cost us the match.
Absolutely dominated the first 20 minutes of it and put nothing on the scoreboard
What does Howe offer? A run with player needs more strings...he coughs it up too often with basic errors and isn't damaging on the outside. Fringe at best imo.Howe ain't getting dropped. Some of you are clueless as always.
I don’t mind your posts. It is just a game and you were gracious in victory.Calm down mate. It’s just a game.

2 goals*.22 disposals - 6 marks - 5 clearances - 1 goal - 3 behinds. That’s a good return by Wingard. A few more games under his belt and he’ll be playing in the midfield full time.
TOB wouldnt have taken that mark late in the game and you know it. Its not the reason we lost regardless. It was crucial errors with the ball. When we engaged Henderson and Blicavs and halved the contests they became a non factor. From my vantage point he didn't. Had a few really lazy efforts as well when the ball hit the ground

We will take a lot from that game. We lost it with unforced errors but had some very good ball movement.
Lewis and Brockman came good in the last, after struggling for impact during the first three. Morrison made very good decisions and looks like a genuine best 22. Scrimshaw was excellent, as was Hardwick. Jiath is learning very fast and when he matures will be one of the best intercept, run and carry players in the game. O'Meara is finelly starting be trust his knees. I am confident Worpel will come good - we know he can play.
Frost is a bit of a worry because, good as he is, by this stage in his career he should be over his brain fades. Howe is an honest but limited player - good depth but nothing more. I think we should consider Hartley over Hartigan.
Could we have won with TOB rather than Kosi? Probably - but I am not unhappy that we are sticking with Kosi, who has a lot to like and should have more scope for improvement.
I am also stunned because we played large parts of that game as man on man no zone. The first time in a long time since clarkson took over that we have done that. It meant every player was responsible for his own opponent. Which meant Jom and shiels werent chasing tail like they were last week. Interesting development. I might have mull over it a bit longer
It wasn't his miskicks, people can live with that, it's how slow he is with the ball. He gets it handballed to him and then just stands there liek a deer in headlights until he is under so much pressure he miskicks it. If he miskicked it with the first thing on his mind... OK you get that in a risky profession. If you just stand there forcing yourself to get hammered and then miskick it, THAT's entirely avoidable.Understand the angst re Frost and his errors - that one handed attempt was poor, but he came up huge with 2 big contests in the last 5 minutes.
Now that the initial disappointment has subsided (a little), I’m rapt with the effort.
Yes Howe’s miskicks kill us, but at least he’s trying to get us back into the guts.
Losing to those pricks always hurts, but I think come tomorrow or Wednesday most of us will see more positives than negatives.
