And I find the suggestion that Walker plays forward to just be ridiculous. We are falling over across half back with a lack of an attacking attitude and then skill by foot to be successful with that attitude. Attack and foot skills are what 1AW bring to the team, so he has to be where he's most important. If we can start moving the ball from half back to half forward with a bit of speed, then our forwards will have a lot more of an opportunity to do something.

Henderson needs to stay forward too, as he's actually a genuine forward that will kick multiple goals if he can get a good supply (i.e. when the midfield run the ball at him rather than chipping around the boundary and then bombing it in from the wing)

Why would it be a mistake playing walker forward when he has proven that he can kick 50 plus goals in a season?

He didn't take 50 hangers to score those goals.....

That was years ago when we played aggressive, attacking footy. If he wasn't taking a hanger, he had space to work with. The way we're playing, he'll have neither.

2 bad losses call for serious player changes for this week, plus a more risk taking game plan.

Therefore all the plodders with an inability to take the game on MUST go.

Out: Curnow, Carrazzo, Ellard, White -inj, Smith

In: Walker, Cripps, Whiley, Buckley, Graham or Boekhorst

B: Simpson Rowe Yarran

HB: Docherty Jamison Tuohy

C: Everitt Cripps Gibbs

HF: Bell Henderson Walker

F: Menzel Casboult Jones

R: Wood Judd Murphy

Int: Whiley, Buckley, Tutt

Sub: Boekhorst

Walker, Yarran, Bell should all be given midfield minutes.

Some unpopular ideas below, and many that are unlikely to happen.....but if I was on the selection panel, I'd cause a massive shake up to show that Friday night is simply unacceptable.

Ins and Outs:
- Walker to come into the team for Menzel. Menzel's effort has been poor, and his ball use even worse. Can't gift people games - regardless of where they were picked, or how much potential they have. Let him earn his spot
- Watson to come in at the expense of Wood who was dominated in the ruck. Casboult to play as a full time ruck (as we have no other options), where his goal kicking is less exposed - until he can get this fixed up, lets use his strong marking around the ground, and make way for Watson to be a target up forward
- Cripps to replace White who is out of the team due to injury
- Whiley replaces Carazzo. Change of the guard. I've supporter Carazzo and defended him for a long time. He didn't lead the team well on Friday, and his ball use was well below par.
- Buckley to come in for Tutt. Tutt stated when he came to the club that the small forward position was his to lose - well he's done his best to lose it. Buckely to come into the team, because regardless of ability.....he'll give a shit and lead by example
- Byrne in for Ellard. This team needs pace and good decision making, which is executed well. Bryne tries as hard as Ellard, but has the chops to back it up. Give him a run....he's earnt it.

B Touhy, Jamison, Docherty
HB Everitt, Henderson, Byrne
C Yarran, Curnow, Simpson
HF Gibbs, Watson, Bell
F Cripps, Jones, Walker
FOLL Casboult, Murphy, Judd
I/C Rowe, Buckley, Whiley, (S) Smith

Rowe lucky to hold his spot....but he provides a chop out in the ruck, and is versatile enough to be swung forward and back depending on needs.

I am not dictating at all,I am in no position to do so. I am expressing an opinion if that's ok with you?

I just don't see the relevance of discussing that issue in a game preview thread. If you are of a different opinion then good for you, that doesn't mean I can't express my own.
The EFC doping scandal is very relevant to any game involving the players who were part of this scandal. As relevant today as it was 3 years ago when an EFC side on the juice knocked the living suitcase out of us, including inflicting serious damage on Carrots.

Changes I would like to see:

Out: Tutt, Curnow, Carazzo, Jones, Smith, Ellard, White (inj).

In: Cripps, Buckley, Walker, Byrne, Armfield, Whiley, Graham

B: Tuohy - Jamison - Buckley
HB: Simpson - Rowe - Docherty
C: Gibbs - Cripps - Yarran
HF: Walker - Hendo - Everitt
F: Menzel - Casboult - Armfield
Foll: Wood - Judd - Murphy

I/C: Bell Whiley Graham Sub: Byrne

Fair enough if that is your belief but i think it's time to move on, i'd rather focus on football. Each to their own.

Since there's a clash with the first Northern Blues game of the year, I'll wait to see which team Buckley is playing for before I decide which game to go to.
I'm not prepared to go and watch a team full of not-tryings play a team full of...well, you know.

Unpopular? Most of it looks like common sense to me.

Only thing I'd do differently is bring Walker in for Smith, and leave Menzel in the team. Granted Menzel hasn't been great, but we're simply too short on talent for him to be running around in the 2's. Smith has tried hard and looks a prospect, but has been basically injected in two full games. Could probably use a spell.

What is with our tagger obsession?

Shits me to no end.
It's what a defensive minded coach does when they don't have any faith in their team.

MM is now in self preservation mode. If he uses a more attacking method and succeeds then he'll be criticised for not doing it earlier.

What he will probably do now is keep picking the same guys because it supports his assertion that we are shit, whether that's true or not.

He can continue to pick Smith because he can say "look, I'm playing kids"

I'd drop two taggers and stick with Everitt as the sole run with player.

Graham and Buckley a deserve a go over Smith.

he's playing Kids because he failed these 2 years and helped in getting rid of some good players (troublemakers albeit) with whom he and the club were unable to set positive vibes... MM should not be Given time on Next year seeing as how we were better off with the likes of ratten and Close to better times than now
