Why JHF over Caldwell? I'm literally deciding which one to bring in. Caldwell clearly has much superior scoring potential with Merrett out, just depends if its sufficient over JHF to make either the same or more coin. Even if it's similar coin made, you are getting better scores on field while you have him.

JHF is the definition of value per possession in SC. His scoring potential is huge when he gets plenty of the ball.

He doesn't gull at all, almost all of his possessions are contested and are either clearances, score involvements or scores.

He's a great tackler and I think you will find by the end of the season, score well from contested marks for a midfielder. He can also explode through tacklers with the ball, so he rarely gives away free kicks for being caught.

He hasn't really hit the scoreboard yet and he's averaging 86......

With Cunnington, LDU, Thomas and Anderson out, he's going to get heaps of midfield time in the next fortnights games. I think he probably starts on the ball against Brisbane.

Not really necessary trades, but thinking:

Whitfield -> Hewett
Hough -> Xerri (via Rachele)

Opens MF link, and should mean my team value goes up a helluva lot, even if the scoring has been a bit ass. Whitfield just annoys me so much. George looks like he could make top 6 in defence, doesn't he?

The disappointing Gawn/Ridley/Steele types are tempting to throw on the bonfire, but they're good players with track records of scoring well, so I'll resist the urge.

fu** it.

Shitfield > Hewett
Steele > Cripps
Turdin > Heeney

Can't resist having an extra keeper by going Steele > Cripps. Steele really looked like shit in both games.

Here's what my team looks like after these trades. Feels like i'm just correcting my starting structure. Obviously the backline is a bit weak on the rookies but I think we're all like that. Waiting for r6 for Daicos to be shifted to the back via Uwland dpp. Will focus on upgrading the rookies there too.

Really happy with my starting picks of rookies in the midfield + fwd line.

Go easy. We get the picture.
Much more and we'll be boring a hole in our screens.

You won't be when Mead is dropped for Gray :/

Trade boost 100% activated this round - actually wish I could use 4 trades this round, and then sit on my team, as I am fairly happy with it overall, except for nabbing a couple of corrections.

Gov -> Xerri - Speaks for itself, Xerri will boom as a cashcow, and is scoring solidly. Also frees up $50k odd.
Soligo -> Stephens - The "deli meat" as I call him, is the weakest rookie. No JS and poor scoring. Stephens is a must have cashcow IMO.
Berry -> Brodie/Caldwell - Brodie was in the spot of Gov before I was seduced by his his PS form, and figured it was easier to trade down to Brodie if need be, but of course Xerri has popped up. Also, with Caldwell scoring relatively well with sub-par CBAs gives me hope in light of Merrett going down. Going to be a coin flip here for me, and Brodie has his DPP going for him also with his MID/FWD DPP!

On my SuperCoach Edge podcast, I touched on the prospect of why getting rid of an uber-premo like Steele just isn't worth it - especially considering his high floor (due to his tackles). He started slow last year, and a heap jumped off and he punished them. I am predicting he will do the same. Likewise, trading Gawn makes no sense when there is only really one other viable option in English. Trading down to anyone beneath him, such as Witts is a massive risk. If he goes down with injury and you've used up the $$ difference between Gawn and Witts elsewhere, you are left in a hole. Happened the other year with Naismith.

I think we just need to adjust scoring expectations of Gawn. With Jackson, his ceiling is lowered, but he is still a dependable ruckman on his day.

Best of luck peeps!

So after much deliberation I've decided upon three corrective trades, one rookie, one midpricer and one premo:

Owens to Brodie, who is the most promising cash cow who I don't already have
Berry to Caldwell, who is flying and is possibly an M8 keeper
Dusty to Cripps, who is also flying

Nice trades.
I cant fault any of them.
Good work.

Let's all pray that Mountford and Black from the Eagles get some more game time later this year.

$102.4k rookies with decent scoring potential got me like :eggplant:

They can only play while WC have less than 28 players available.
Once this covid drama is over I reckon we wont see much more of them.
In 2 weeks WC players will be the best as far as covid risk goes.
They have all had it the most recently.

Thank you for pointing that out Garfield.
Now answer the question :D
well i thought that response would make bowey xerri brodie sorta self explanatory.. only one id want to get rid of is owens. but if you had to choose 2 more id go dixon and gibcus. durdin has good js.

Is Naughton going to play? Who will play forward if he does miss?
Sounds like they’re hopeful. Bevo flagged Hannan as someone who could play more tall forward 😂. Bevo seems to have returned to his crazy ways and ignoring what seems blindingly obvious to most.

regardless of what round I trade them in, I can only really do three, as I'm downgrading Gawn > Heeney to facilitate this.

thinking

This Week
Gawn > Heeney via English (English, Preuss, Hayes ruckline)
Owens > Xerri via Rachele (after R6 can flick him into rucks)
Gibcus > Bowey

Next Week
week after Dixon > Martin as a correction (would lock in the above rucks with no DPP)

Would mean prioritizing Durdin over Gibcus, which I don't mind tbh but it goes against the group think in this forum.

I'm getting major FOMO from not trading

Unless I trade out Ridley/Whitfield/Gawn, I can't see many avenues

Owens to DStephens is the only trade I had pencilled in

Unfortunately I miss Xerri and Rachele, but as I said above, without trading one of my "premos", I can't do much else

Am I missing anything?

If I was to trade 1 or more of Ridley/Whitfield/Gawn types and dropped a trade boost, what would you guys do?

We have exactly the same midfield and also the backline is only 1 different you have Ridley and I have Hall

Hall >>>>>>>>>> Ridley

I need Xerri (vs BigO/Fort) and Rachele (vs Port) to score 40-60 this weekend

Did you trade last week?
