Where's everyone's thoughts on Rory Laird? 21 and 24 disposals in rounds 1 and 2, 317k with a BE of -18 and an average of 102. Anyone thinking he can do what Matthew Jaensch did last year?

Also Nathan vanBerlo, 17 and 15 disposals in R1 and 2 and an average of 92, pretty decent off such little touches but given how powerful Adelaides midfield is will he be able to continue finding enough of the ball?
Short answer YES

Sure, but my rationale is that this method allows me to jump onto two premiums faster than I would have been able to otherwise, probably for a lot less money (I'm already looking at guys like Beams, Boak and Malceski, as well as Rockliff when he returns, who are going to drop a stack of cash), and gives me an extra month to have a better look at just who are the must haves for this year.

I'm not saying it's right, but that's my reasoning
Nah that makes sense. Especially when NVB is looking likely to end up around 400k anyway. Since posting, I brought in BSmith and Bonts in for GAJ and Goodes, i.e two keepers and didn't like the feel of it. Reversed trades and went GAJ and Lambert to Sloane and NVB and now I feel like I can adequately improve my team

Laird 85-90 is about what he'll average I think.

Short answer YES

Laird 85-90 is about what he'll average I think.

I put him in, my backline atm is Laird, Simpson, Shaw, McIntosh, Lumumba, Harry Taylor (Goodes + Nathan Brown) if I'm lucky and keep my fingers crossed that could end up being my final backline aside McIntosh all averaging over 90

Other option is to put vanBerlo in and hope he gets to 450k ish

Hey guys can I ask for your advice on trades for my team this week.
Thinking Lamb to Hogan, GAJ to NVB with only $1600 in the kitty.
Interested in your ideas, Thanks Lads. Info from Jiska Gingy krk004 GOAUS! toxic TheOz Judd_Magic
would be much appreciated.:thumbsu:

Miller > Van Berlo
GAJ > Best Mid (Sloane?)

You're like me, need NVB at M5 with a 4 premo midfield

If you desperately want Hogan;

GAJ > Pendles
Miller > Hogan (via Swan DPP)

My 2c

He doesn't have Pendlebury so he could consider him as well instead of Sloane. Not a fan of the $100k needed to get VB.

Considering KK > Oxley, Lambert to Rich/NVB. 20k cash in bank.
Already have Saad, KMc and N Brown down back. I fear KK wont improve much, and may occasionally be made a tagger. Could Oxley be this years Langdon?
Can afford Rich or NVB. Is it worth banking the extra cash with NVB or going for Rich and his higher ceiling? Dont feel like sideways trading Cripps to NVB.
Current lineup attached.

Oxley had 4 touches in round 1.

all in the 1st 1/4 30 SC points a 1/4 time then he started cramping up in the 2nd then subbed. If you don't want him then don't trade him in.

what if he typed it like this?

malceski > hunt
goodes > smith

:p

i would get rid of mal though. might be a struggle for him for a while to score well in our team, much easier last year for him. get rid of him while he's still got some value.
Much better now... ;)

Out: Ablett - Frawley
In: Wallis, Tex Walker

:D

Next week: sort out the ruck division and replace another forward (Goodes). Will have 900k to play with :D
No offense, but Frawley? And Goodes? Never going to be great picks.

NvB will earn you more $$$ than Rich.

Laird or Docherty as a D4. Consider cash generation and points here.

Sounds good. I'd probably take NVB out of the two.

Thinking Goodes -> Bruce, cash out in two weeks for one of the def rookies debuting this week. CEY, Heeney, VBD, Cripps, Miller for M6-8 makes me think I have enough cover to not get NVB, even if he makes more money over a few more weeks.

Other option is Lamb -> NVB via Bont DPP. More sensible, less of a POD.

Still not sure which defender to upgrade to.

I've always been leaning towards Docherty over the others because:

Smith (Knocked out last week, and what happens if Adelaide stop dominating games?)
McDonald (He's a KPD. He could have to lock down opponents)
Rance (KPD, and Richmond haven't played teams with the best forwards in first 2 rounds. He could score very well this round, but I don't like his scoring prospects after that)

...but now that Walker's come back for Carlton, Docherty might not get as much of the ball? Surely Malthouse isn't stupid enough to mess with the ONE thing going right with Carlton at the moment...?
