Round 4 Trades

View attachment 126168 After a reasonable start to the round it's fair to say that yesterday is the ugliest Sunday i've seen since that family 'incident' of Easter '12...

An almost-donut from Wallis, a stinker from JJK (largely the midfield's fault), and an average score from Fyfe with the C coupled with my opponent having Hodge led to a league loss is Div 9 that looked certain on Saturday... To make it worse I have plummeted from 1K to around 7.5K in the overall.

I have 27 trades left and waiting to get more info on Wallis. I highly doubt I will trade him with solid bench cover (and wanting a loophole option anyway) however if it is a LTI I may consider more aggressive trades. Im crushed that I have to move on Ollie Wines... it's just bad for footy in general having kids like this on the pine...

It's not all doom and gloom. Despite having 3 LTI in Ablett/Rocky/Wines I have jagged most of the good rookies and have no need for corrective trades so I find myself with an overall increase of $660k which isn't bad at all.

So now for the trades...

Wines-Sloane looks the obvious option and might be the most popular trade this week. Having him in combination with Danger in my mids could be powerful with them usually sharing 220-230 PPG. Sloane is mr consistent although he will throw up some 80's soon and settle back to a 115ish average and potentially burn people chasing his current average of 139 which I highly doubt he will sustain.

Wines-Pendles is more of a gamble with the reports on his ankle but with Anzac day coming and Swanny very likely to get plenty of attention this has a Pendles 150+ written all over it. Currently averaging 115, proven gun, untaggable a lock for VC/C all year long as he works into the season.

With Bonts being a second year player i'm a little dubious about jumping on - especially with him already missing a game. It feels like point chasing and bound to end in tears. Does make for an interesting trade scenario though:

Wines-Bont
Wallis-Watson

Would be very aggressive (and surely will waste at least one more trade on one of these guys getting injured later!) but would make my midfield look amazing.

Another option I am considering is Wines-Buddy via Martin. Gives me time to wait on fallen premiums in the midfield before eventually throwing Gray/Dusty back where they belong. Would mean I have 5 KPF starting in Round 4.... GIDDYUP!

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Im a fan of the Bont, just because hes a 2nd yr player doesn t mean anything, hes electric and damaging in the forward line and through the middle.. stay strong with the bont

I'm a massive fan! Just think if you didn't start him it's not worth it... I'd love to risk it ;)

He will, look at west coasts list, different role in the scoobie doos to west coast, he played alright in his first game for WC.. Could be carrying a niggle too

I liked the way he stopped as if thought he took a mark after receiving a handball. He's got a long way to go.

Did you see the stats for some of the other WCE rookies? Colledge, Waterman, McInnes etc all should get a look in before Lamb plays again.

Haha i didnt see that.. Alright, on that alone hes got to go

Looking to switch Goodes for a 120k rookie for cash, and upgrade Wines to Selwood (or Pendles/JPK)….. leaning toward Selwood personally, but either could work.

This would leave me with a solid starting field of;

Shaw, Lamumba, Newnes, Saad, McIntosh, Oxley (Brown, Rookie TBA)
Sloane, Selwood (or Pendles), Beams, Dangerfield, Rich, CEY, Heeney (Miller, Cripps, Smith)
Goldstein, Bellchambers (Cox)
Swan, Tex, Gray, Bennell, Bont, Hogan (Clarke, Mcgrath)

If you think anything else would benefit me more, let me know! Cheers in advance guys.

Oh, it's bare alright. Just look at this mess (pre-trades). I have only 2 bench players making $ FFS and no def, ruck & fwd bench emergency cover.

If you have a better idea on how to get this team back on track, by all means share your wisdom. (I have 318k in the bank)

bartel ----> jack martin
lambert -----> super prem.
random idea

haha I actually tried those 2 trades last night. I just think having both Jack Martin & Bonts in my team is a bit too risky, since both would need to be keepers with the amount of trades I've already burnt. Right now, I'm only half sure that Bonts will end up a top 10 forward, but I really can't see JMartin as a fwd keeper. Great if you started with him like Jiska did, but actually trading in a stepping stone at this point probably not the best way to go.

Bartel > Hogan
Lambert > Watson

200k left in the bank for an upgrade in 2 weeks.

Even just Bartel > Watson (via Lambert DPP) & pray/hope no need for fwd emerg cover

Lamb plays on Sunday, as does McGrath & Tarrant*

Hmm I'm an ACTUAL premo short in the mids with jack steven, griff and 3 rookies on field- so griff has to go.
The good news is money is no object with a tad under 500k in the bank. (after moving bartel on for bont).

Will probably go griff to fyfe.

Toying up whether to wait a week for another look at krak, rather than fyfe... Which would mean i play 4 mid rookies plus steven everyweek.... (the extra one would be van berlo, krak, vandenberg or miller).

Unfortunately my 20k ranking, and touk learning to play football mean i may miss krak. Hmmm.

There is every chance that this might burn me down the line but considering:

Goddard and Griffen -> Bont and Lewis

Would have preferred Sloane to Lewis but am 1K short

Malceski is GONE! I feel like he's slightly ruined my life with his shitski scores.

Heath Shaw is in.

Might also "downgrade" Brett Goodes so I can build the cash pile. Currently have 195k in bank

I just checked the "show byes" thing on SC and I'll be missing 4 premo mids in Rd12 if I trade in Watson. :( Have switched to Bartel > Jelwood instead. Sloane's Rd11 bye is also appealing.

Lamb > McGrath is another fwd cow option worth doing, for sure. Not sure how long he will stay in Brissy's starting 22 though?

Jelwood or Sloane both great options.

Do your research on Tarrant (if you're not convinced on McGrath), the ex-Sth Mildura boy looked great on Sat night IMO.

Injury history obviously a concern - particularly getting him in before 2nd game - ideally, just be ready if you need to pull the trigger.

Otherwise just one trade (Bartel) & look to next week.
