No Jono, no JOM is so so disappointing.

I hope TV is in ahead of TOB.
Newman almost came out and said in the review that Jono would step up to four quarters this week, I wasn't really expecting him in.

At least someone is telling the truth at HFC lol

Some bad news and bad signs coming through there, anyway hope the players kept in can find some form Go Hawks!

Sorry folks. I am rapt that Mitchell isn't playing. He's an Eagle now & his skills would hurt us. Am I missing something? Have we already conceded? WTF? Whilst not "the enemy" ... he is a quality opposition midfielder. The less of those the better. Now is not the time for adoration. That happens when he returns as part of our coaching staff.

OzJohnnie If that's the case what's with all the media comments of "he is a lock" "looks certain to return"... I don't get it, they have to be hiding something, there is something amiss.

The media like a story and JOM sells papers. The Hawks footy department like an elite player and are making sure he develops well.

That's the best I've got. I suspect that with some players the staff are wrapping them in cotton wool seeing that there isn't a season on the line (unfortunately). If this were round 18 and a top 4 position were at stake then perhaps a different decision would be made.

What if "test" is the truth? Perhaps he didn't pass it.

Yes, this seems logical. A lot of players will play through some niggles, but given the history I would guess the club would be super conservative with JOM. For JOM, the "test" may well be "do you have any lingering discomfort in the knee at all?" and if the answer is yes, then he sits out another week. He may play through soreness further down the track, or in another parts of his body, but it is hard to see them playing him if he shows any soreness at all in the knee at this stage. Of course if it is several weeks on from the knee knock, and he's still showing signs of soreness, then we have more reason to be concerned that the soreness is chronic and the knee remains an ongoing concern. Fingers crossed this is not the case, we desperately need him in the midfield right now.

True that - we need every bit of help we can get.

Mitchell is a star and I love him, but clapping him off the ground for 2 minutes after watching him rack up 30+ possessions and play a key part in defeating us in the 2 hours prior doesn't suit me at this point.
