Trades Round 5 Trades - Contenders for dual-position status

Considering Laird to Degoey to for a cash grab and seemingly same points on field ( for now) . Am I crazy!?
Laird will still be a top 8 mid this year (note how low the mid's are scoring so far).

If you trade him out, then I assume you will try to get him back, so you might gain $80k. Is that worth 2 trades? Just imo but it's too late to sideways premo's now, try to upgrade your rookies now.

If you think he's going to go sub 110 all year, and you won't want to trade him back in, then it's fair enough.

Trent rivers is in ripping form and only has .4% selection. He's A POD i need.
Rivers for consistence or michalanney for $$$ in the cap

88k in the bank.

Doc to Stewart locked in. Leaves 35k

Will wait for selection/tonight's scores (Cowan E, Hollands E, Laird VC) to dictate what else I do.

JVR/Ryan/Young on the radar.

Nothing else glaringly obvious I should be doing? JHF has bought himself some extra time now he has a low BE.

I've been trying to figure out how to get the stick insect into my team. Even though he will inevitably miss games, it seems every man and his dog have him so at least when that happens we'll all be in the same boat. So this week will be Witts -> English I think.

Getting rid of Witts when in all likelihood he is back next week might not be the smartest move, but I don't like the sound of Dew's comments about him being very sore off/on after just 3 weeks of footy. Will almost certainly miss more games imo. And probably in similar 'late out' scenarios.

My other trade will be Young -> Stewart. Cleverly reversing the trade I made in round 1 to keep my league opponents guessing.

I used 5 trades in the opening 3 trade weeks, this will put me at 7. Which is far from ideal but it seems many others are worse off. I haven't used any boosts which softens the blow a bit.

Hi team!

Need advice. I’m thinking….
Doch > Lloyd
Jones > Duncan

Or should I be upgrading Worpel > mid premium? 🤔

Righto… Doc to Haynes bank the left over cash to turn either McKenna or Ginbey to premo aka Stewart in a week or 2

No Way Wow GIF by TV Land

Deserve all I cop on that one - brain fade to the max :)

Since we're chatting, interesting in hearing your rationale on Lloyd being a poor pick up?

Seems a few are bringing him in and looking at his long term history, we see:

2018 - 112 ave
2019 - 109
2020 - 122
2021 - 108

Last year 92

and now back to 104.

On the surface, looks like a consistent premo with an anomaly down year last year that means he is cheap (for his scoring history) this year.

But, he could be a trap. His scoring went from 122- 108 - 92 and maybe that's the new normal for him? Do we know why last year was different and has the reason for that changed?

Thoughts?

Hi Legends,
Just trying to find a way to fix this mess of a team. Doc needs to go but unsure weather to hold Witts or move him on (Thinking hold).
Hayden Young is the other killer in my side. This what I was thinking.

Option 1
Jones > Samson Ryan ( Via Constable to DEF, Phillipou to MID, Madden FWD)
Doc > Stewart - $84,000 in the shed
Then maybe Young > Redman or Lloyd

Option 1
Jones > Samson Ryan ( Via Constable to DEF, Phillipou to MID, Madden FWD)
Doc > Dawson - $38,600 in the shed
Then maybe Duncan ($10,500 left)

Thoughts please

Going Witts & Liam Jones to English and Tylar Young

Some interesting stuff happening with GWS defs scoring. Not showing signs he's turned yet, but at least keep an eye on Cumming the next month who has had a poor scoring start and only 1% owned. He already has a whopping 38 kick-ins which blitzes the entire comp. That part is secure, but he's just not getting the intercepts nor as involved as he was. That form and his scoring can change fast...all it might take is one def injury somewhere and with guys like Whitfield Buckley Haynes we know those injuries are almost a certainty. Could prove great value in low $400's but wait for the form to change .

Mighty Gull building nicely and still represents solid value with very little (if any) downside risk at the price. Kick in duties shared with Blakey like last year, and even with Florent scoring well he's getting his share of the chips again. Horse luvs the ball to go thru him. One of the lowest risk primo pickups on the board that i can see. Only 5% owned is ridiculous.

Dawson and Stewart seem to be the popular choices. Maybe people believe they can get Saad for a similar price later?
We get Zieb and Sheezel for free
Then there's Daicos, Dawson, Sinclair, Stewart and Sicily as proven premos, a few are coming down in price now too
There's also Day as a cheapie

Despite being a great pick, Saad is not on my radar

Do you think Himmelberg gets moved back at some point? He nuked Cumming last year.

The Gull is SC royalty, and he has found more chips this year. Does the fast style of footy Sydney are playing limit his ceiling though? As you say he's very safe.

Why are so few people going Doc > Saad? Something I am missing?

No, he is a solid option having a great season so far

Reasons he may not be everyone's choice:

(a) Requires funds as Doc has lost value (you'll note some of the more popular choices are cheaper options)
(b) They feel 115 is not sustainable as his previous best is 103 (105+ is still very good though)
(c) Related to the above, the alternatives at his price point have more proven scoring history, either in terms of multiple premo seasons (Stewart, Sicily and for a little more, Dawson) or with a higher previous best (Sinclair, 114 last year, as well as many of the earlier named 3).

Lloyd is splitting kick-ins 3 ways now, and his touches aren't any different from last season just better usage I guess, personally I prefer Mason Redman at that price point, I think the 49 was an aberration given he gave away 2 50s and multiple free kicks leading to goals which probably cost him 40 points.

Tossing up between
Doch to Redman/Dale
Or
Doch to Jelly & a rookie downgrade somewhere

Also pretty sure I've read this somewhere but if I go Docherty to Dale and then Dale to Redman before their games, it only counts as one trade?
