Round 5 Trades

I really don't understand trading rookies like Parker and Butters this early. They have shown they can score, Butters had 1 poor game, and Parker got injured otherwise he'd have likely scored OK.
Surely 2 price rises is premature, 1 decent score and there's alot more cash to be made between the 2.
Balta I can understand, he is a spud and will likely be dropped for Riewoldt.

Then there's the trade ins
Rotham surely has the shakiest JS, will he even be named if Jetta is back?

Stack or Ross? Say they are both named, Dusty and Houli back, does one go for Cotchin?
If you want to make an upgrade, you need to cull a rookie. People are trading guys like Parker and Butters because the other rookies they own either 1. haven't made enough money or 2. have lower BE's

Patience starting to wear thin with Lycett. 3 average scores surrounding the obvious monster in between.

Tempted to go to mummy & pocket the 120k for an extra 20pts a week....only caveat being his body can’t be trusted.

To stick fat or not for now?? Port fans feedback welcomed.
I would stay away from Mummy. Only a matter of time before he breaks down or gets suspended. And then what do you if that happens if you have spent the money already?

Lycett is going to have his good game here and there but it will be outweighed with far more average games SC wise. Was always going to happen entering into a timeshare arrangement with Ryder.

He only scored well in that Carlton game as he was up against a potato in Phillips.

Surely Kentstable has 100k minimum more to make?

Yes, Constable will make another 100k at a minimum. Marshall also has 100k more in him. The difference is Marshall could be an F6 in a completed side even if he only ends up averaging 90 where as Constable is never going to be an M8 in a complete side even if he ends up averaging 95-100.

I'm going to get both. No guarantees obviously but I gather the club is really wrapped with both of them.

If I had to pick 1 in it would be Ross. I havent seen a midfielder debut at Richmond like that since Cotchin.
I'm getting both as well, assuming Ross does well again and lines up for his 3rd match.

2 decent games from Stack (~65) and he'll be over $200k.

Short out for a long time, I think he can hold his spot with Houli back

I probably wouldn't do that trade if I had to start an extra rookie on field TBH. You need all the cash gen you can get with a GnR heavy set up. Have you considered a Worpel > Marshall sideways trade?
I did consider it but I don't think it's worth the trade cause they will probably both end up averaging around that 90-95 mark.

I might just double downgrade and build up a bank to pick up TKelly at 450k in 2 weeks and Macrae at 600k too.

What’s with everyone’s sudden love affair with Marshall? Wasn’t even mentioned last week. Haven’t seen a St Kilda game this year yet. What’s the lowdown?
I've had him on watch since the JLT and posted as such as soon as he was named in round 2. Waited the obligatory two weeks. 3 tons (one in JLT) made him a no brainer for me.

Thankfully, no forced trades to make and I have a number of rookies mooing along nicely..

My issue is that I only have $20k in the bank.

I'd be prepared to make a downgrade trade this week in order to boost my bank $ to be prepared to trade from a rookie to a fallen premo...etc

Apart from trading down a rookie (e.g Scott) to a rookie on the bubble like Stack which only nets me about $65k.

Another option is my R2, trading Goldy to Mummy and instantly netting $200k. (I currently have Gawn as R1). The added bonus of this trade is that it gives me enough to upgrade Parker to Marshall now for example.

Any thoughts? :straining:

Very confident in both our mid rookies

Particularly ross
He should have come in round 2 vs collingwood but it’s great timing for a downgrade in supercoach!
He’ll be a lock in our best 22 the rest of 2019
Natural ball winner and helps the load on dusty who’ll be tagged every game, Cotchin and Prestia. Plenty of ball to be won.

Stack will be in while short is out
Which is 7 more weeks
There’s no threat
Houli takes menadue’s spot
Stack is more likely to score 50-70 though then the 100 on debut

Also seriously looking at baker/Bolton
As they both took their chance last week. Butler won’t get back in for a while. As there are bugger all forward downgrades we should definitely keep an eye on both ;)

Alright campaigners. Lets get to this.

Gawn 2015.

Rowan Marshall 2019.

Rowan Marshall is the same age as Gawn when he established himself as a ruckman.

St Kida ruck stocks atm.

Lewis Pierce
Billy Longer

What the **** St Kilda supporters, please explain.
**** me. Look at those clangers. 6-7 every game. He’d be 140+ without those.
CL = Clearances, not clangers. He had two clangers last week and 3 the week before. Feel free to check fanfooty.

Thats what I'm hoping for too. With Wines back and not slowing down, Rocky seems a steal at 440k
Rocky still has a BE of 85 this week with that 36 in his rolling average. Even if he scores 120 this week, he'll still only go up another $15k.

I'm considering Setterfield > Moore to forwards > Lockhart to fund Sheed > Coniglio.

Setters looks to get a week off (edit - he's got two weeks and can definitely GTFO out of my team) and is no guarantee to get straight back into the side. Plus he sucks. It also allows me to play Clark or Hore in the backs over Parker or Drew in the forwards, thanks to Kiera being sent forward.

Lockhart may not come straight back in, but he sits on his bubble and is bottom priced.

Conigs as cheap as he will ever be (cheers for the tip Falchoon)

Sheed seems to have lost his role to Gaff, so I'm getting off

Man, I feel like Rotham is gonna be Houston (?) MK2 for me. Not sure if I'm thinking of the right player, but all the fans of that team said that there's no way he keeps his spot, just a fill in etc and he ended up being a solid cash cow whilst the bloke with certain JS (Eddy?) played like 2 games and didn't make any money.

If he's named I think I'll bring him in.

As much as rewarding a fringe player for playing their role well when called up should be the case, it's not as simple as that from a team balance perspective when there is an established player who has played that same role well for a larger number of games to replace him with especially when said player was not dropped, but rather pulled out with a short term injury.

Dees don't have anyone better to replace Hore with at the moment. But he will most likely be dropped for May when he comes back in a 1-2 weeks unless they decide to drop Josh Wagner or Frost instead for match up reasons.

Jetta on the other hand might be right to go this week, in that case Rotham would be the player to make way as a like for like, unless WCE opt to drop someone else for Jetta for match up reasons this week. I can't think who that could be though.
Is Jetta and Rotham a like for like? Jetta is known for pace, I didn't watch Rotham but he is 193 cm = tall defender

Is anyone with Bines considering trading in O'Brien for someone and having Bines as a FWD doughnut?
When is Jacobs back for the Crows anyway?
Yes, because looping fwds could slightly reduce the number of shit sandwiches eaten. Pretty shakey JS tho? Does he play with Sauce?
