Yeah I often wonder how much training AFL players do in season. They seem to put such a high value on gaining fitness in the preseason, and it's a sport where they cover so much ground and must expend so much energy in a match it can't be much.

I think most of the heavy lifting is done in the preseason .
They will get some light weeks duing the year .

Thinking of going
Butters to Impey
Helmet to Ridley.

Not ideal bringing in Impey at the higher price but most of the forwards are untrustworthy so I figure id take the cheaper option and get in Ridley now while I have the chance.

Or is it not worth trading out Helmet? In that case, I'd probably still go Impey then just bank the cash and use the 200k I would have left next week to upgrade one of the rookies.

I assume you mean Butters to Waterman? You could, but your main risk now is not completing your side. If you downgrade Butters, you then have to upgrade Waterman at some point. So that's 2 trades to get back to the same point.

I don't think Waterman is a must have, Jones is much more useful to you as you need defenders. You will have to be strong and hold Helmet even as his value drops.

You have basically used all you luxury trades for the season already imo.

Edit: looking at your team again you could do Butters > Impey to get a bit of cash in the bank. You would be trading him in as a keeper though.

Fixing up my team a little, plan is to hold Daniel for the week and hope he bounces back & I also avoid the extra trade. Any other suggestions, 51k cash.

Butters > Ridley (via Dow & Sharp)
Dow > Waterman

All things considered, including price, breakevens, role, etc who would we go out of Jiath and Bowes? Both speak to me, if CJ ends up a keeper the 100k saving is immense, but I'm worried that getting him lateish as I am now he might just end up being an extra trade. Bowes I feel is more likely to be a keeper but am I spending that extra cash for nothing?

I have Lloyd, Ridley, Houston and Doch already in the backline so the wildcard question is are there any other Backman to consider over those two?

I've pondered this too.

Depends on the make up of your team. If you're sitting pretty rank wise with no major issues and can afford Bowes without hurting future trade plans go Bowes. His role is better role than CJ with kick outs, 500k for 115 average is a no brainer. I am gonna bring him in I reckon.

Will be a keeper and average 10+ over Jiath all year. I think he might fall back to a 105 average but at the same time I expect Jiath to fall back to 90-95.

CJ is higher risk/higher reward because you're potentially saving a trade with the 100k or losing a trade down the line to move Jiath on for a real premium. If I was playing catch up I'd go CJ and 100k to fix other issues.

Cerra only in 4% of teams, which is amazing. Anderson would be a massive POD all year probably. Bolton strikes me as the type that will go 35, 110, 60 and drive you mad.

Don't trade Flynn yet as he has a heap more cash to make. Will Treacy make you that same coin over the same period? Look to get Treacy in next week if he looks ok this weekend.

Have you got Waterman already? Looks like he could make 150k at his price.

Treacy of course is a good R3 should there be a Rowan Marshall F5/6 in a few weeks time.
