Just worked out that I can afford to trade Hinge to Chapman if I trade Gibcus to NOD which is tempting especially if Hinge doesn't play next week.

That would mean using my 3rd trade boost in 3 weeks though and I'd like to keep a few up my sleeve especially for the bye rounds.

As no mids are sticking their hands up this week (high BEs, poor form etc), tempted by:

Hinge -> Dixon
Cripps -> Docherty
Bowey -> Sicily

Only issue is that my backline would look like this:

On face value, that's not an issue, and it means I have DPP swings on every line. The problem is that I then lock in my backline for the year (or at least foreseeable future), then Daicos may be wasted as a potential D6 keeper. That being said, the likelihood of my entire back six remaining injury free for the whole year is low, so I could always plug him in later. Or just turf Ridley at some point if he keeps strolling around the backline doing nothing.

Alternative option is Cripps -> Taranto instead of Doch, meaning the team is a little more balanced and less rigid.

Or I just keep Bowey for a week, get Doch and then trade Bowey for a premo mid next week.

What do people think of Ben Keays?

Great work ethic, gets to the ball every time somehow.
Probably better suited to DT with his efficiency and in a midfield with Crouch, Laird and Sloane though.

Massive POD

Thought about it myself. Was originally waiting to see how he would score with Laird and Crouch in the side. Still looks really good. Could make/break your season

Hinge to NOD feels like the smart move.
nah, reckon Hinge has more mooing to do

Thought I would hold, but the Cripps > Gawn move is playing on me strongly...

EDIT: these are my trade options

Rowell > Brodie
Stephens or Ward > Noddy
Cripps > Gawn

Can do any of the above, but if I want Gawn, I need to use two trades

If I don't trade Rowell, will likely trade him up to Oliver once he bottoms out

Taranto could be inspired with Toby Greene about to return.

So basically, you'd like us to choose between Tom Green or Doc...
Well yes I suppose so, but I guess it really comes down to whether it is best to shore up the backline or the midfield. At the moment I'm thinking probably the backline

Actually, I have solved all my issues with two trades.

Team before trades:
  • Cripps Injury, with awful midfield bench coverage (Stephens, Ward, Macdonald)
  • Hinge injury, with awful back bench coverage (Gibcus, De Koning)
  • Preuss suspension, with awful ruck bench coverage (Hayes)

With the magic of DPP Wizardry:
  • Stephens > Noddy
  • Cripps > Gawn via Treloar > SDK > Noddy > Rachele > English
The end result:
  • Get Noddy on ground over SDK / Gibcus
  • Get Treloar on ground over Ward in mids
  • Can swing English back into the ruck to cover Preuss, and cover him with either Durdin, SDK or Hayes

What is people's thoughts on Caleb Daniel as an upgrade from Minge? I haven't got the extra handy for the Doc, Stewart like.

Current backline is
Crisp
Short
Super spud Ridley
Paddy Mac
Hewett

Sdk
And Gibcus

Also have Dan Rioli forward who can DPP with SDK.

Might look to bring in Heeney for Cripps (English the other option). Swing Dunkley into the mids for the time being. Probably the best way of getting a keeper in for the Cripps price. Expect Green's scoring to fall back.

I think Sic looks the better option in that price range. Helmet would be a POD though.

I don't hate the look of...

Hinge > O'Driscoll
Ward > Erasmus
Cripps > Walsh

Leaves me with $116k. Bowey easily upgraded next week to a decent Def premo without needing to make 2 trades.
