Might as well use one of my trade boosts after that pathetic round

Bowey > Docherty
Ward > Noddy
Cripps > Brodie

Opens up all the DPP links in my team forward and back

It looks like you will have made 10 trades to go almost nowhere, so what you probably SHOULD do is keep your hands off it. :)

But I guess that's the method, right?

I started with Shitfield and Pidley so traded both those campaigners out for Hall and Hewett which will be a win.

Ward out for Rowell, Gawn out for Heeney.

Brought Dixon in for Sheldrick..

Basically was behind the 8 ball with some garbage starting picks and left myself too light in defence with only 3 premos.

Been playing catch up since round 1, I'll probably stop after this week as the team is more where I wanted it to be before I made any trades.

Pitty it's taken me 10 trades to get here but here I am....

"Great minds think alike".............or should it be "fools seldom differ" ;)

Doing the same trades myself.

Who the **** is Jack Sinclair?

OK I think I have my team sorted now and in the future.
This week I will do the following trades which leaves me with $205k in the bank.

I have decided to keep Cripps even if it's a few weeks he is an SP and worth holding.
This current side gives me 17 keepers including Rowell,Brodie & Rioli
Hopefully Ryder gets rubbed out and Hayes comes in to generate some more cash this week.
After Round 5 1 trade Hayes>Preuss and hopefully Oliver gets tagged and another low score with Xerri making some more cash.
Then the fun part move Daicos DPP > D6 JHF should get DPP as well move JHF > Forward.
Trade Ward/Gibcus/SDK/McCartin to a Rookie on the Bubble and Xerri > Oliver.

This will give me :

Def : Short/Hall/Hewitt/Sicily/Rioli/Daicos (Gibcus/SDK)
Mid : Macrae/Touk/Oliver/Neale/Cripps/Dunkley/Rowell/Martin? (Ward?/NOD/Macdonald)
Ruck : Witts/Preuss (Dixon)
Fwd : Heeney/Butters/English/Cogs/Brodie/JHF (McCartin/Durdin)

I will have 24 trades with 4 upgrades what could go wrong...:moustache:

Man I got so cucked this round. Out from 4k all the way to 20k with my 2k score! Cripps captain killed me but had a shocker regardless.
I brought O'driscoll early but now have no one to downgrade hinge to..
Early thoughts are:
Cripps to Bailey Smith (homer pick)
Butters to Brodie
Bowey to McInerney or a big def premo

You and Judd_Magic are racing to the No Trades Club!

Not sure holding Cripps is the right move. I did the same with Cerra (not as good a player obviously) last year and it was a mistake. There's no guarantee he's back in a few weeks, and there is no guarantee he'll be in the same form when he returns.

Bold strategy though, go hard or go home!

Gutted I traded Dixon last week, and now thinking I might have to use a trade boost to get him back.

I could pull the Grand Roughie and trade him in for the man I traded him out for (Xerri) 🤔

Cripps > Doch
Hinge > NOD
Xerri > Dixon

$296k to turn Bowey into Miller next week. Whatever is left plus a Paddy Mac/Rachele downgrade will be enough to turn Berry or Rowell into Oliver in a few weeks.

29 trades and 2 boosts down if I do this.

Thoughts kents?

No use hanging on to trades if I can improve my team and I'm ranked 12,780 so there is plenty of room for improvement. Another :poo: round and can pretty much kiss Top 1000 goodbye and I'm here for a good time and blowing trades is fun. As you said go hard or go home.:p

This plan would also leave me with 14-18 keepers (depending on Blakey, Daicos, Brodie, and Rowell). Only non-keepers on-field otherwise being Martin, Dixon, JHF, and NOD.

Would only have 25 trades left though.

Teams tied for 992nd have 9290 points.

I'm ranked 15,546 with 9024 points.

The gap is not that big, I'm not kissing goodbye to top 1000 yet and neither should you. That gap can easily be closed with good trading. Getting the right players will yield more points over the season rather than desperately trying to fill your side with speculative "keepers" as soon as you can.

Daicos could be a keeper but might slow later in the year but would be an easy upgrade. Brodie I think will be an F6 keeper and apart from injury I can see myself holding him all season.

Yeah, I'm strongly considering him. He has another 100k at least in him.
He had an interrupted but ok first 2 games, then had the 96 with nicnat playing.
I put it to you that (with nicnat now out) rooks coming in dont get much better than this. We now have a guy who is far more cemented in the 22 AND more than likely a #1 ruck, costing $164K.
Many of us picked Xerri and paid just over $200K for these reasons....and this guy already comes with the DPP. We're buying the role more than the talent.

How many first year rookies turn out to be keepers? Daicos would probably be the first one? If he lasts until the byes he's done well.

Who else have Wet Toast got to ruck? Bailey Williams does a super impression of a potato. Huge Dix is going to score very well.
