McRae did say on his SEN segment last week that we only had 5 on the senior list who hadn't had COVID yet, but scarily they were 5 of our best players. Assume Checkers was one of them.

Our injuries are coming in positional clumps - first it was all the tall defenders, and now it is all the small forwards out at once
Yeah it's such a shame

I'm thinking Reef will have to play as a crumber as well as either of the Daicos' and possibly Sidebottom.

I'd rather keep C Brown in the middle as he didn't actually too badly there last game

Surprised Henry’s name hasn’t come up in the out list

We can't carry both he and Reef right now. Certainly can't carry those 2 plus WHE.

Tricky now we lost both Checkers and Ginners this week, so those 3 probably survive. All 3 need to lift their output.

In - Roughy, Adams, Kruges, De Goey
Out - Elliott, Checkers, Ginners, Madgen, Brown (sub).

Checkers is a close contact. His gf has it.

Which means he could test positive in the coming days and miss Anzac Day.

It early to be thinking we miss Kreuger. He has an AFL career now in its 4th season and he has 3 games and 20 AFL possessions to his name. Too early to tell how he ends up but sides cant be reliant on such an inexperienced big man.

Would hate to think the club would put any similar expectation on him. If he is to become an AFL player this season is likely to be largely development with consistency of performance more expected from Checkers and the senior brigade.

I did, like you, think he looked good on debut so have hopes for him.
I don't think we'll get much on the stat sheet, but like Mcreery his physicality could be important, against WCE our forward line was overflowing with non-physical flankers.

Leave WHE as a FF. At least he can leap. Bring in Cox and we have height and backup.

Madge should be medical sub.

We’ll miss Ginnivans pestiness around the forward arc. But maybe it forces Wilson to see how he goes as a crumbing forward.

Checkers and Elliot out, impossible to cover. Forward line lacks serious experience now. Whatever low expectations I had, are even lower! Maybe HH gets a call up. I think brown will remain simply because both ginni and mcreery are out. They may push him forward and rotate him and Degoey…

In: Adams, De Goey, Roughy, Kreuger
Out: Elliott, checkers, Ginnivan, Bianco

I'm not convinced Madgen will be dropped. They may want to play him to manage roughy's game time as he gets to full match fitness. But usually the two wouldn't usually play together. But Lions only have 2 real talls (McStay/Daniher, unless Oscar spends time forward )

While it did appear to me that Cameron would play. They could switch it up and opt for Cox.

I could make a case of pushing sidey forward and bringing in Poulter.

Such a shame that Ash Johnson copped an injury, would be a certain starter this week.

Roughead straight in if he's fit. McStay and JoeD dominated the Cats without Stewart last week, taking 18 marks between them, so he's desperately needed.
JDG and Adams are certain starters.
Cox featured among the best in the magoos, and might get the nod ahead of Kreuger to replace Checkers.
Reef may need a rest, and a hungry Poulter (BOG in the VFL last week) or Bianco could come in.

IN: Roughead, De Goey, Adams, Kreuger/Cox, Poulter/Bianco
OUT: Mihocek (H&S), Ginnivan (general soreness), Elliott (shoulder), Wilson/Madgen (omitted), McInnes (managed)

A half blind man and a bloke that has stone hands what could possibly go wrong.

have Cameron and Cox ever played together before?
Yes. When we beat West Coast in the 2020 EF.
