Ward looking more and more like a bust sadly. To go along with DGB’s issues, we need the Mackenzie and Watson picks to work out desperately.
Bit harsh.

I think Wardy suffers from being too nice a guy and trying to always do team things, many times sacrificing his game too much.

He has ability and finding his rightful position is the battle at present. Wing isn't the easiest position to play when the team is playing as badly as it has.

Honestly, I hope I'm overreacting here, but while I like the inclusions for stability I find myself disappointed with the omissions and very hesitant about this game.

Wardy has been down on form but no more so than any of our other midfielders. He's also being played on a wing instead of being given a consistent crack in the guts like the others.

Ramsden had a poor game last week but 85% of the team did. He was also good against Collingwood, and important structurally. Now Chol has to ruck leaving us with a resting Meek (who may even be on the bench) and Gunston at FF. So now we have both no height or speed.

Butler was always going to make way due to not taking his chance. That's fine.

Sam talked all week about how disappointed he was. Yet players that have been soft all year (like CMac) or extremely inconsistent with form (Nash, Newcombe) remain while we cull the less experienced.

Ward is playing a hard role on a wing, CMac has been almost non existent all season.
Both have been poor, Cmac had more touches, a goal, t score involvements.

Criticism for Cmac is fair, but he has been no worse this year and was better last week.

It doesn't look good, as much as people want to say there's nothing to see.

I’m a Ward basher admittedly already as much as I don’t want to be, and I agree it hasn’t been great to watch so far.

He’s just too nice and too vanilla atm to make any headway in the AFL against men.

In saying that, this week is actually a chance against one of the poorer teams to give him a crack against some players of similar age and body type and see what he can do.

I’m also disappointed Ramsden doesn’t get a crack against a horrible tall backline.

Vanillas like Xavier Ellis can still be great. I want him to be that good

Absolutely, and believe me I want him to pan out as well, and he still can.

We’ve got a lot more time with this list than everyone thinks.

It’s just very hard developing in a side playing poorly when you don’t have any real elite characteristics. Hopefully he can get through this patch and feel at home when he gets another shot.

As I said above I’d have left him in and let him have a crack against North after copping some pretty decent opposition the last month.

Ward was the most plug and play player of that draft. Things aren't looking good for him in his 3rd season unfortunately. I'm happy serong gets a game, thought he was more deserving last season.

A 21 year old who's played 35 games... I feel a bit sorry for the kids who come to this club sometimes...the expectations fans have of their development is staggering...

Maybe Damo was right and we are tanking?😂 I wonder if bringing in Serong and dropping Ramsden means Sicily will play forward? Might be a good opportunity to release him from high expectations and a potential tag from Eddie Ford and hopefully against the worst defence ever assembled in football history he can clunk a few and get his confidence back. Not a permanent move just a circuit breaker. He’s $5 to kick a goal on pointsbet that’s worth a modest wager methinks. Gamble responsibly people!
Sicily, Serong and Frost all trained in the backline together today. Dimma trained forward.
